Centenary Year of Shujalpur Municipal Council is a Celebration of Every Citizen’s Pride: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the centenary year of the Shujalpur Municipal Council is a celebration of the pride and honour of every citizen of Shujalpur. It is a festival of our heritage, achievements and collective resolve. With the blessings of Jatashankar Mahadev, the Shujalpur Municipal Council has completed 100 years of public service and public welfare.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced ₹3 crore for the construction of a new building for the Shujalpur Municipal Council and ₹2 crore for roads and other development works in the municipal area. He was virtually addressing the centenary year celebrations of the Shujalpur Municipal Council held in Shujalpur on Thursday from the Secretariat in Bhopal. Higher Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar and Municipal Council President Smt. Babita Parmar was present at the program in Shujalpur.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Shujalpur has been making continuous progress in cleanliness-related activities. Additional efforts will be made in the coming years to secure an even better position for the city in the national rankings. He informed that during the past two years, funds worth ₹5 crore have been provided for an auditorium and CC roads in Shujalpur, ₹6.60 crore for road construction under the Kayakalp Yojana, and ₹12 crore for water supply under AMRUT 2.0.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Shujalpur has been a land of brave warriors. When Peshwa Bajirao I hoisted the flag of victory in Malwa, Shujalpur held strategic importance for him. On this sacred land, Ranoji Shinde, while leading the Peshwa army, dedicated everything to the motherland. The grand Shiva temple and historic chhatri built in his memory continue to inspire us with their legacy of valour.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that exactly 100 years ago, in 1926, the Shujalpur Municipal Council was established on the foundation of courage and resolve. The vision of a bright future has today grown into a mighty banyan tree. At present, Shujalpur is emerging as a model of development. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the region is witnessing continuous progress in roads, health, education, and trade and business activities. Through the Municipal Council, the state government is fulfilling its commitment to provide roads, electricity and water to every household. Significant efforts have been made to resolve the city’s drinking water issues. Preparations are underway to keep the Jamghad River clean at a cost of ₹21.55 crore, which will be a valuable gift for future generations. The Chief Minister called upon citizens to promote public participation to take Shujalpur to new heights of development.
Higher Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the region has witnessed a remarkable transformation in terms of development and public welfare over the past two years. He requested the Chief Minister to allocate land for a new and larger bus stand. Municipal Council President Smt. Babita Parmar also addressed the programme.
Former Minister Shri Vijendra Singh Sisodia, District Panchayat President Shri Hemraj Singh Sisodia, public representatives, social workers and a large number of local citizens were present at the event held in Shujalpur.
