Known as ‘Drone Didi’ in the Village

Raipur, March 2026 :Seema Verma, who once lived amid limited resources and financial hardships in Gram Panchayat Poudi of Masturi block in Bilaspur district, is today reaching new heights of success through her courage, hard work, and willingness to adopt new technology. By joining the National Rural Livelihood Mission ‘Bihan’, she not only transformed her own life but also became a source of inspiration for other women in her village. Today, she is fondly known in the village as “Drone Didi.”

In 2014, Seema Verma began her new journey by joining the Jai Maa Gayatri Self-Help Group. Initially, she focused on strengthening her financial condition through savings and small income-generating activities with the group. After joining the Bihan initiative, she received opportunities for self-employment and started producing para mushrooms. Through dedication and hard work, she expanded this activity and began earning a steady income.

Her desire to learn something new and move ahead motivated Seema to adopt modern technology. She received training in drone operations. After completing the training, she was provided with a drone set, generator, and an e-vehicle with the assistance of the government. She then began spraying pesticides on farmers’ fields using drone technology.

Today, Seema Verma is making farming easier for farmers through drone technology while earning a respectable income. Villagers now affectionately call her “Drone Didi.”

Seema Verma’s inspiring journey proves that when rural women receive the right opportunities, training, and guidance, they too can reach new heights through determination and confidence. The Bihan scheme has given her life a new direction and provided wings to her dreams.
