‘CM Yuva Scheme’ transforms Vandana’s life, becomes self-reliant by starting an oil mill

New employment opportunities at the local level, products supplied to nearby villages

In the first phase of scheme, eligible youth are given interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh

Lucknow: March 2026 : Through ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan’, Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh is encouraging youth to pursue self-employment. By benefiting from this scheme, many women are taking steps toward becoming self-reliant. One such example is Vandana Yadav, from Mohanlalganj in Lucknow, who took a loan under the scheme to establish her own oil mill and has now become an inspiration for other women.

Vandana Yadav says that she began her enterprise after receiving a loan under the state government’s ‘CM Yuva scheme’. Through this initiative, she received not only financial assistance but also the necessary guidance to start her business. She took a loan from Bank of India and along with her husband, established an oil mill where pure mustard oil is produced. She has also launched a brand for her product.

In Majra Khujehta village of Mohanlalganj, Vandana set up her oil mill and the mustard oil produced there is now being supplied to several nearby villages and districts. Through this enterprise, she has not only become self-reliant but has also created employment opportunities at the local level. Her efforts are inspiring other women in the region to move forward towards self-employment.

Under the ‘Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan’, youth between 21 and 40 years of age are encouraged to start their own businesses. In the first phase of the scheme, eligible applicants receive interest-free loans of up to ₹5 lakh. If the loan is repaid on time, provisions are available in the second phase for loans of up to ₹10 lakh. State government aims to create one lakh new entrepreneurs every year through this initiative.
