Trump Warns US Could Cripple Iran’s Power Grid Within an Hour Amid Drone Threat Probe

Washington, D.C., March 2026 : Donald Trump, President of the United States, has warned that American forces possess the capability to destroy Iran’s electricity infrastructure within an hour if the ongoing conflict escalates further. At the same time, US authorities are investigating a potential Iranian revenge plot involving drones allegedly launched from a boat off the California coast.

Speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews after returning from political visits to Kentucky and Ohio, Trump offered a blunt assessment of the war situation and the possibility of retaliatory actions by Iran.

When asked about a law-enforcement bulletin warning of a possible drone attack originating from a vessel near California, Trump confirmed that authorities were actively examining the threat.

“That’s being investigated, but you have a lot of things happening, and all we can do is take them as they come,” he said, noting that security agencies were closely monitoring the situation.

Trump also stressed that the United States retained the military capability to inflict severe damage on Iran’s infrastructure if necessary, though he indicated that Washington would prefer not to escalate to that level of destruction.

“We could take apart their electric capacity within one hour, and it would take them 25 years to rebuild it,” Trump said. “So ideally we’re not going to be doing that.”

The president portrayed Iran’s military position as significantly weakened following recent US operations, claiming that Iranian forces had suffered heavy losses during the conflict.

“Iran is being absolutely decimated. That’s all I can say,” Trump told reporters, adding that the war was being conducted with remarkable effectiveness by US forces.

According to Trump, several foreign governments had privately expressed admiration for the US military campaign and conveyed support for Washington’s actions.

“Other countries telling me too, big countries, powerful countries. They said they’ve never seen anything like it,” he said. “And they also agree with what I’m doing.”

Trump further claimed that Iran’s military capabilities had been largely dismantled during the ongoing operations. He suggested that the country’s naval and air defence systems had been severely degraded.

“They’ve got no navy. They’ve got no air force. They’ve got no anti-air traffic, anything. They have no systems of control. We’re just riding free range over that country,” he said.

The president also stated that US forces had neutralised much of Iran’s naval strength, including several vessels used by Iranian forces.

“We’ve knocked out all of their boats. They have some missiles, but not very many. I think we’re in very good shape,” he added.

Trump also revealed that he had been briefed on concerns about potential Iranian sleeper cells operating inside the United States. He suggested that many of these individuals may have entered the country under previous border policies.

“I have been, and a lot of people came in through Biden with his stupid open border,” he said, referring to Joe Biden, the former US president. “But we know where most of them are. We’ve got our eye on all of them, I think.”

Despite his strong assessment that Iran had been heavily weakened by US military actions, Trump indicated that the timeline for ending the conflict remained uncertain.

“Most people say it’s already been won. It’s just a question of when—when do we stop?” he said, suggesting that Washington wanted to ensure Iran would not regain the ability to rebuild its military strength quickly.

Meanwhile, the administration is also preparing measures to stabilise global energy markets amid the ongoing conflict. Trump said the government was ready to release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to prevent potential disruptions in supply and price spikes.

“We’re going to be doing it very quickly,” he said, referring to plans to tap the emergency oil reserve if needed.

The developments come amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran, raising concerns about the possibility of further escalation and retaliatory attacks beyond the Middle East region.
