JD Vance Defends Trump’s Iran Operation and Economic Agenda, Urges Support for US Troops

Speaking at a public gathering in Rocky Mount, Vance said the ongoing US military operation was driven by a clear and longstanding national security objective. According to him, the administration is determined to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, a goal he described as both straightforward and essential to global security.

“You all know that right now we are engaged in a military operation to ensure, as the president has said repeatedly, that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon,” Vance said during his address. “That is a simple, simple principle and standard.”

The vice president also called on Americans to show strong support for US troops deployed overseas, emphasising that the men and women serving in the armed forces are operating in dangerous conditions to safeguard national interests.

“I want every single person to tell every single American serving overseas in harm’s way that this crowd in North Carolina has their back,” he said, drawing applause from the audience.

During the event, Vance was asked about the advice he provided to President Trump during internal discussions about the military operation. However, he declined to reveal details of those conversations, citing national security concerns.

“I hate to disappoint you, but I’m not going to show up here and tell everyone exactly what I said in that classified room,” he said, referring to deliberations that took place in the White House Situation Room.

Vance stressed that confidential discussions between the president and senior advisors are essential for effective decision-making, especially when dealing with sensitive security matters.

“It’s important for the President of the United States to be able to talk to his advisors without those advisors running their mouth to the American media,” he said, underscoring the importance of maintaining secrecy around strategic military planning.

In addition to addressing the military situation, Vance spoke about the potential economic implications of heightened tensions in the Middle East. Rising oil prices and concerns over energy markets have become major issues amid the conflict, but the vice president said the administration is actively working to manage those challenges.

“He does not like oil prices at higher oil prices and neither do I,” Vance said. “We are going to bring those prices at the pump back down to the levels they need to be for the American people.”

According to Vance, American families experienced financial strain during Biden’s presidency but have begun to see improvements under Trump’s leadership.

“The average American family under Joe Biden’s leadership lost about $3,300 in take-home pay,” he claimed. “They’ve gained about $1,300 while Donald Trump was president.”

Vance also pointed to declining inflation rates and lower interest levels as indicators that the US economy is recovering. He argued that the administration’s policies are designed to boost prosperity for working families and restore economic confidence across the country.

“The president who caused an affordability crisis was Joe Biden, and the president who has made the American people richer is Donald J. Trump,” Vance said.

In addition to economic issues, Vance addressed concerns about crime and immigration. He said the administration is prioritising stronger support for law enforcement agencies and tougher measures against criminal migrants.

“We ought to be using federal power to support our cops instead of fighting against them,” he said, arguing that backing law enforcement is key to improving public safety.

Vance also stressed the importance of removing criminal migrants from the country, saying it would help reduce violent crimes such as homicides and carjackings.

“The best way to lower violent crime is to get illegal alien criminals out of the United States of America,” he said.

The vice president also pledged continued federal assistance for communities in North Carolina recovering from natural disasters, assuring residents that the government will deliver necessary resources to help rebuild affected areas.

“We are going to get the resources to the people of North Carolina that are necessary,” he said.
