More than Two Lakh Applications Eligible for ‘Mukhya Mantri Vyoshree Yojana’ in the State

Mumbai : The “Mukhya Mantri Vayoshree Yojana” is being implemented in the state through the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance to provide a lump sum of Rs. 2 lakh directly to eligible beneficiaries. A total of 2,14,978 applications have qualified for this scheme in the state.

The distribution of eligible applications across divisions is as follows: 29,099 applications in the Mumbai division, 27,054 in Nashik division, 74,671 in Pune division, 10,179 in Amravati division, 45,702 in Nagpur division, 6,257 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division, and 22,016 in Latur division. Kolhapur district has the highest number of eligible applications at 57,399, while the remote Gadchiroli district has 24,998 qualified applications.

Through this scheme, senior citizens will receive Rs. 3,000 via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to purchase necessary aids and equipment that help them maintain a normal daily life and manage age-related disabilities and infirmities. The scheme also includes provisions for educating and training them to maintain their mental health through mental health centers, yoga therapy centers, and more.

Eligible senior beneficiaries can purchase assistive devices according to their physical needs, such as glasses, hearing aids, tripods, walking sticks, wheelchairs, folding walkers, commode chairs, knee braces, lumbar belts, and cervical collars. They can also participate in treatment and mental health programs registered by the state government.
