Paved road to be built up to Budhpur Ashram; CM announces financial assistance
Strict action will be taken against those spreading rumours about LPG: CM Rekha Gupta
New Delhi, March 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta attended the 12th anniversary celebration and the silver jubilee of Apna Ghar Ashram in Budhpur on Sunday. On the occasion, she praised the organisation for its selfless service to destitute, abandoned and ailing people over the past 26 years, calling it an inspiring initiative for society.
The Chief Minister said institutions like Apna Ghar Ashram become a ray of hope for people who, for various reasons, find themselves separated from their families and society. The organisation not only provides shelter to such individuals but also ensures essential facilities such as medical care, food, clothing and proper care, helping them live a life with dignity.
Rekha Gupta noted that over the last 26 years, Apna Ghar Ashram has built an extensive network of service. Today, the organisation runs more than 70 centres across India, and its services are steadily expanding overseas as well. She described the institution as a true embodiment of humanity and compassion.
The Chief Minister also said that social service cannot be carried out by the government alone. It requires the combined efforts of both the government and society.
Extending her best wishes to the volunteers and workers associated with the organisation, she said the government would also ensure that such service initiatives expand on a larger scale and reach every place where such facilities are needed.
Assurance of support and facilities for the institution
Impressed by the work of the organisation, Rekha Gupta assured that the Delhi government would extend full support in resolving administrative issues related to the Ashram’s development and operations, including the availability of doctors and other essential arrangements.
She said that various needs of the Ashram—such as strengthening medical facilities, providing administrative assistance and addressing infrastructure-related challenges—would be taken up on priority.
The Chief Minister also announced financial assistance for constructing a paved road leading to the Ashram to improve connectivity. She further said that if there is a need to institutionalise systems such as organ donation or eye donation after the demise of residents, the government would take the necessary steps in that direction.
Rekha Gupta said that inspired by the philosophy of Antyodaya advocated by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the Delhi government remains committed to ensuring dignity, security and assistance for the last person in society. The government’s effort, she said, is to ensure that every needy individual in the capital receives the support and help they require.
Member of Parliament from North West Delhi Shri Yogendra Chandolia, Narela MLA Shri Raj Karan Khatri, senior BJP leader Shri Shyam Jaju and several dignitaries and workers associated with the organisation were also present on the occasion.

Strict action against those spreading rumours about LPG: CM
While speaking to the media during the event, Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta also responded to issues related to LPG. She said spreading rumours of any kind and creating panic among people is not appropriate. Both the Central and the State governments are closely monitoring the situation with full responsibility, and there is no reason for citizens to panic.
She said that some people are unnecessarily trying to create fear and encourage hoarding, which goes against the national interest. The Chief Minister made it clear that the government is keeping a close watch on such activities. If any individual or organisation is found involved in spreading such misinformation or engaging in wrongdoing, strict action will be taken against them. She also appealed to citizens not to pay attention to rumours and to continue their daily routines as usual.
