Lucknow, March 2026 : Under the ‘Mission Shakti’ campaign, a total of 37,685 girls across the state actively participated in bank and hospital visits along with skill development programmes. The initiative aimed to complement formal education with practical knowledge, equipping girls with financial literacy, an understanding of healthcare systems, and essential life skills.

During the programme, the participants actively engaged by asking questions, resolving their doubts, and expressing their commitment to applying the knowledge gained in their daily lives. The primary objective of the initiative was to prepare girls not just academically, but also for real-life situations, enabling them to become aware, self-reliant, and empowered citizens.

Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh stated that through ‘Mission Shakti’, efforts are being made to educate girls and empower them to become capable and independent in every aspect of life. He noted that such exposure visits and skill-based training programmes help boost confidence and prepare girls for practical challenges.

Practical Learning for Everyday Life
During visits to banks, girls were introduced to the importance of saving money, opening and operating bank accounts, digital banking, UPI transactions, ATM usage, and safe financial practices. These sessions provided them with hands-on understanding of modern banking systems.

Similarly, hospital visits helped them learn about the structure of healthcare services, basic first aid, emergency facilities, and the importance of hygiene and nutrition. This experiential learning approach strengthened their confidence, awareness, and decision-making abilities.

Director General of School Education Monika Rani said that connecting girls with banking and healthcare systems is an important step towards making them informed and empowered citizens. She added that such activities help develop self-confidence, leadership qualities, and decision-making skills, all of which are essential for their holistic development.
