E-procurement portal crashed, 5000 farmers did not get gate pass; this is not Digital India but a digital fraud with farmers: Anurag Dhanda
Preparations collapsed on the very first day; no gunny bags, no weighing, no labour in mandis: Anurag Dhanda
Chandigarh, March 2026 : On the very first day of government procurement of mustard in Haryana mandis, the level of mismanagement, negligence and open loot that was witnessed has completely exposed the BJP’s Nayab Singh government. Aam Aadmi Party’s National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda, launching a sharp attack, said that in more than 90% of the mandis in the state, government procurement remained completely stalled, while thousands of farmers stood in line from 5 am to 7 pm with their crops, sweating it out.
He said that the arrival of mustard across the state has crossed 1.2 lakh quintals, but government agencies have not even purchased 5%. This clearly proves that the government does not want to procure. While the government itself has set a target of purchasing 13 lakh metric tonnes of mustard, such a situation on the very first day raises serious questions on both the intention and preparedness of the government.
Anurag Dhanda said that in Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad, Rewari, Rohtak and several other districts, farmers had to stand for hours under the sun. In Jind, farmers were seen returning empty-handed. He said that the e-procurement portal completely collapsed. Due to server crashes, around 70% errors in data verification and lack of system updates, farmers could not even get gate passes. More than 5000 farmers were sent back citing “record mismatch.” The question is clear—when the procurement date was already fixed, why was the government’s IT system asleep? This is not Digital India, but a digital fraud with farmers.
Anurag Dhanda said that the situation in mandis is even worse. There are no gunny bags, no weighing scales, and no adequate labour. There is not even proper drinking water, toilets, or seating arrangements. Farmers kept suffering in the heat with their crops, but the government and its officials remained missing. This government has become one of disorder and negligence, not of farmers.
He said that despite MSP being fixed at Rs 6200 per quintal, farmers are forced to sell to private traders at Rs 5300 to Rs 5800. This means MSP is only a show, while private procurement is being encouraged. This is a well-planned conspiracy to end government mandis.
Taking a jibe at the Nayab Singh government, he said it is number one in announcements but zero on the ground. Big promises were made to farmers, but when the time came to sell crops, the government completely failed.
He warned that wheat crop will soon start arriving in mandis. If the government does not immediately improve arrangements, the situation will become more severe and lakhs of farmers will suffer heavy losses.
Anurag Dhanda clearly warned that if the e-procurement portal is not fixed immediately, and if gunny bags, labour and other facilities are not provided in mandis and timely procurement is not ensured, the party will raise the voice of farmers at every platform.
He said that Aam Aadmi Party will fight strongly for farmers’ rights and will continue to expose the anti-farmer policies of the BJP government before the public.
