Peace of Mind Brings Harmony to Body — This is Art of Living: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that India has never sought to conquer the world through the power of weapons. He said, “We chose the path of becoming a Vishwaguru, not a world power. We have always wished for the happiness of all and given the message of global welfare”.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that peace of mind brings harmony and balance to the body. He said, “Only when the mind is peaceful does the body remain healthy, balanced, and harmonious. This is the true Art of Living”.  He added that ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ is the essence of Indian culture, and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is spreading this message across the world. Through his teachings, Sri Sri has helped millions of people overcome stress and shown them the path to a peaceful, healthy and happy life.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the global conference organised at the Art of Living International Centre in Udaypura, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Sunday to mark Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s 70th birthday celebrations and the completion of 45 years of the Art of Living movement. The Chief Minister said that he had personally come to Udaypura to convey the heartfelt greetings and best wishes of the 8.5 crore people of Madhya Pradesh to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. He remarked that even after seven decades, Sri Sri’s energy and compassion remain ever-youthful and inspiring despite today’s busy and turbulent times.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav described the Art of Living as Sri Sri’s gift to the world and said it represents the supreme confluence of service, spirituality, and peace. He said the Art of Living is a modern global expression of the philosophy of Niskam Karmayoga, described in the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and the art of celebrating life. He added, “Art of Living is not merely the art of living life, but also the path to making life meaningful.”

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Art of Living has connected people with yoga, pranayama, meditation and the core spirit of Indian culture, thereby helping them attain inner peace. He described the month-long global conference as a true celebration of humanity. He said, “Where the mind is peaceful, society too prospers.”

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, congratulating the Art of Living spiritual organisation for its global social service initiatives, said that the organisation is reviving India’s ancient spiritual traditions such as meditation, yoga, sadhana and Sudarshan Kriya, thereby contributing to the upliftment of individuals, society and the nation.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that visiting the Art of Living International Centre in Bengaluru gives one a sense of divine bliss. He stated that Indian culture is like a bouquet of languages and regardless of language, the expressions themselves communicate deeply. Referring to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Chief Minister said that the grand temple of Lord Shri Ram has now been built in Ayodhya. He also mentioned that with the blessings of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the Somnath Festival is also being celebrated in Somnath, Gujarat.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that life and death move together with every breath, both remaining in the hands of the Almighty. He stated that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has decided to celebrate his 70th birthday through a 20-day-long festival. He said that devotees from around the world visit the Bengaluru centre to attain self-realisation.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, highlighting the importance of gurus in Indian culture, said that gurus lead people from darkness to light. He said Indian philosophy is based on the principle of ‘Yat Pinde Tat Brahmande’, the microcosm reflects the macrocosm.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further said that human beings derive sustenance from three forms of nourishment. A person can survive without food for 30 days, while water can sustain life for seven days. He said that Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has shown humanity the path from breath to supreme bliss and from supreme bliss to the Divine.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that while human life in the material world is finite, Sri Sri’s various social service initiatives help keep human life connected with energy, consciousness and nature. He stated that the Art of Living Centre in Bengaluru offers a path towards cultural awakening and peace.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav concluded his address with chants of ‘Baba Mahakal Ki Jai’ and extended birthday greetings to Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. He wished that Sri Sri may attain a long and blessed life and continue guiding humanity for years to come.

Several other dignitaries also addressed the gathering. News First Media House CEO Shri S. Ravi Kumar and TV9 senior anchor Shri Ranganath Bharadwaj, speaking in Kannada, described Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as a messenger of world peace who has taught people across the globe not only the Art of Living but also the Art of Loving.

The programme was attended by Telangana Governor Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla, Smt.
