New Waqf Act Strengthens MP Waqf Board under CM Dr. Yadav’s Leadership

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board has undertaken historic and effective measures through the efficient implementation of the new Waqf Act to ensure the protection of Waqf properties, transparent management and their utilisation in public interest. Illegal encroachments on Waqf properties that had continued for years were removed, and after physical verification, efforts were focused on generating employment opportunities for needy people through these properties. Discussions were also held with the Waqf Boards of other states on ways to increase the income of the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board, and measures were taken to enhance revenue generation. The Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board secured the first position in the country for uploading records of Waqf properties on the UMEED portal developed by the Government of India. As a result, the Board was honoured with the SKOCH Award.

New Opportunities Opened for Sons and Daughters of Society After the New Waqf Act

Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board, Dr. Sanwar Patel, said that after the implementation of the Waqf Amendment Act in the country, the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, has advanced several socially transformative initiatives in accordance with the spirit of the law, giving a new direction to society. As a result of the Chief Minister’s determination, 1,552 boys and girls were prevented from dropping out of school. Proper financial assistance arrangements were also made to help them continue their education. Chairman Dr. Patel said that the new Waqf Act has opened new avenues for the sons and daughters of society. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will honour 849 meritorious students of Bhopal district by awarding scholarships at Ravindra Bhawan on May 25. This is only the beginning, and the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board will honour students with scholarships in every district of the state. Following discussions on the innovative initiative “Padho Padhao – Become Partners in Nation Building,” several states have been sending their officers and staff to the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board office to understand its schemes and working style.

Decisive Steps Taken to Entrust Waqf Properties to Clean and Accountable Management

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the effective implementation of the new Waqf Act has strengthened the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board both legally and administratively. A strict campaign was launched against Waqf mafias, tainted managers, and illegal encroachers. Decisive measures were taken to free Waqf properties from tainted hands and place them under clean and accountable management.

Simultaneously, legal action was ensured against elements running parallel to the Waqf Boards and causing losses to Waqf properties. Recovery notices and Revenue Recovery Certificate (RRC) proceedings worth more than Rs 41 crore were initiated against managers responsible for causing losses to Waqf institutions. In this sequence, a recovery notice of Rs 28.96 crore was issued to the manager of Waqf Yatimkhana Shahjahania, Bhopal, which is considered the largest recovery notice in the history of Waqf administration in the country. Action was also taken to recover Rs 7.21 crore from the management of Waqf Madar Gate, Ujjain. Recovery proceedings worth Rs 1.84 crore were also initiated against the managers of Waqf Jama Masjid, Beena Bazaria, Sagar. In the Waqf Badwali Chowki, Indore case, recovery action amounting to Rs 1.24 crore was undertaken.

Similarly, an RRC was issued against the management of Waqf Hindu Anathalaya, Bhopal, for the recovery of Rs 1.05 crore. A notice was also issued for the recovery of Rs 81.43 lakh against former chairman Pyare Saheb of Waqf Anjuman Islamia, Jabalpur, for losses caused to the Waqf institution.

These actions have reaffirmed the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board’s firm commitment to the protection, transparency, and accountability of Waqf properties. Strict legal action against any individual, mafia, or tainted management causing harm to Waqf properties is being pursued.

All Waqf Properties Now Registered Online

The new amendment law introduced by the Central Government has also compelled encroachers occupying Waqf properties to reconsider their actions. Since all Waqf properties are now registered online, the scope for irregularities has been eliminated, creating a strong deterrent against Waqf mafias as well.

The digitisation of Waqf properties has ensured a transparent system and discouraged unethical activities. Timely auctioning of agricultural lands has also increased revenue, and the results are now visible to all. These efforts are being widely appreciated across all sections of society.

Plantation Initiative Introduced for First Time in History of MP Waqf Board

Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board, Dr. Sanwar Patel, said that for the first time in the history of the Board, a decision has been taken to undertake plantation activities on Waqf lands across the state under the supervision of the Waqf Board to promote environmental conservation. A target has been set to plant five lakh saplings on Waqf lands across Madhya Pradesh. Every individual and every section of society is being requested to plant at least one sapling in the name of their ancestors. District-wise responsibilities will be assigned to ensure proper care of the saplings after plantation, and those performing exemplary work will also be rewarded.
