Khelo India Tribal Games 2026: Thrilling Bouts on Second Day of Wrestling Competition, Players Showed Excellent Performance

Raipur, March 2026 : On the second day of the wrestling competition organised under the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 at Gandhi Stadium located in Ambikapur of Surguja district, very exciting matches were seen among players who came from across the country. The players competed with full enthusiasm and strength and gave their best performance to win. At the end of the competition, the winning players were honoured by awarding medals.

In the major final matches of the competition, in the women’s senior 50 kg weight category, Jharkhand’s Poonam Oraon defeated Telangana’s K. Geeta by 6-3, while in women’s senior 62 kg, Himachal Pradesh’s Priyanka Chaudhary defeated Assam’s Debi Daimari by 11-0. In the men’s category, in Greco-Roman senior 67 kg, Jharkhand’s Anjeetkar Munda defeated Gujarat’s Vasava Mukeshbhai by 9-0, and in 97 kg, Himachal Pradesh’s Navish Kumar defeated Jammu and Kashmir’s Shama Hun by 8-0. In freestyle senior 74 kg, Jammu and Kashmir’s Munair Hussain defeated Maharashtra’s Vikram Sahebrao Pawar by 11-1 to win the gold medal.

Among the medal winners, in the women’s 50 kg category, Poonam Oraon won gold, K. Geeta won silver, and Chanchala Kumari and Rupalalin won bronze medals. In the women’s 62 kg category, Priyanka Chaudhary won gold, Debi Daimari won silver, and Chandni Nareti and Anisha Basumatari received bronze medals. In the men’s Greco-Roman 67 kg category, Anjeetkar Munda won gold, Vasava Mukeshbhai won silver, and Akash Kardong and Akshay Kumar won bronze medals. In the 97 kg category, Navish Kumar won gold, Shama Hun won silver, and Sahil Chaudhary received bronze.

In freestyle 74 kg, Munair Hussain won gold, Vikram Sahebrao Pawar won silver, and Ankush Kumar and Amrut Fakkirappa won bronze medals. Similarly, in freestyle 125 kg, Maharashtra’s Vinod Yashwant Salakar won gold, Rajasthan’s Amit Kumar Meena won silver, and Himachal Pradesh’s Harpal Singh secured bronze.

On the second day of the wrestling competition, the excellent performance, technical skills and sportsmanship of the players thrilled the audience. Participants from various states of the country displayed outstanding talent and made the organised of Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 successful.
