High-Level Committee Meeting Held on Rajasthan Bar Council Elections

Jaipur, March 2026: A meeting of the High-Level Election Committee constituted by the Supreme Court regarding the Rajasthan Bar Council Elections 2026 was held on Monday at the State Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the High-Level Committee, retired Supreme Court Judge Justice J.R. Midha, along with all committee members. Also present were Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Bhaskar A. Sawant, Principal Secretary of the Law Department and Nodal Officer Raghvendra Kachhwal, Secretary of the State Election Commission Suresh Verma, and other senior officials.

Following the discussions, the Chief Secretary directed that the state government would provide all necessary support for conducting the Rajasthan State Bar Council elections. To ensure transparency in the voting process, an officer of Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) rank will be appointed as a co-observer at each polling booth. Additionally, a clerical staff member familiar with election procedures and a support staff (fourth-class employee) will also be deployed at each booth.

The Chief Secretary instructed that all arrangements required for the elections should be completed in a timely manner and emphasised coordinated efforts among the concerned officials.

Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma assured that adequate security arrangements would be made for the upcoming elections of the Bar Council of Rajasthan. In this regard, the Principal Secretary (Law) was directed to initiate necessary correspondence with the concerned authorities.
