The pain of Pahari Korwa Dukhuram is gone, he is getting happiness in life through job
The daily routine of Pahari Korwa youth Dukhuram has changed. After getting a job from the state government, a new dream has started to take shape. A few years ago, due to lack of employment, the whole day was spent in collecting fruits and flowers like fodder, tendu, mahua etc. in the forests. One had to struggle to satisfy hunger. In such a situation, living a normal life was just a dream. But Pahari Korwa Dukhuram had not even thought that this dream would turn into reality one day. The initiative of the state government has brought him to such a position today that now he does not want to go down in history. After getting a government job, Pahari Korwa Dukhuram, who has got rid of his sorrows, has started thinking about improving his future as well as building the future of his children. The job has not only changed Dukhuram’s life, his family including his wife has also started enjoying life.
Presently, Dukhuram, a Pahari Korwa youth residing in village Pendridih of Korba district, has been provided a job as an assistant teacher by the Chhattisgarh government. He teaches children in the government primary school of village Aamadan, adjacent to Shyang-Amaldih, a remote area of Korba headquarters. Dukhuram, who travels daily from village Pendridih to his school Aamadan by bike, said that he reaches school on time. His relatives live in Pendridih, so he lives here. He said that initially it was difficult to do the job because he was used to living in the forest. But gradually the habit changed and hesitation in working also started disappearing due to living in the school environment.
It is worth noting that the state government, through the Tribal Development Department, from time to time works to change the standard of living of members of special backward tribal families residing in the district by linking them to government jobs on the basis of their qualifications. Pahadi Korwa Dukhuram is also a part of these efforts. On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, Collector Ajit Vasant has not only taken the initiative to provide employment in schools and hospitals on honorarium basis through DMF to Pahari Korwas who have acquired education from 8th to higher level, towards the upliftment of a large number of PVTGs residing in Korba district, but has also taken steps towards making a better future for all and connecting the coming generations to the mainstream of society. In Korba district, members of special backward tribal families have got jobs from DMF.
Lifestyle changed due to job
With joining the government service, Korwa youth Dukhuram’s lifestyle has changed a lot. As a teacher, his dressing style and his behaviour among school students have changed. After joining the job, his financial condition has also started improving as he gets salary on time every month. Dukhuram told that he saves some amount of his salary so that he can make a future for his children in the future. Dukhuram, who got married two years ago, told that he was also fond of riding a motorcycle and mobile. After getting a job, he has fulfilled his hobby of motorcycle and mobile, now soon he will also bring TV and other necessary items in the house. On the other hand, Dukhuram’s wife June Bai says that now that her husband is working, she has stopped going to the forest with the women around to collect Mahua, Char, Tendu leaves and she is also trying that instead of going to the forest, it is better to live a new life and work towards improving the coming generation.
