Amid flood devastation, Yogi govt provides ‘Roti, Kapda, Aur Makaan’ to affected people

Lucknow : Food, clothing, and shelter (Roti, Kapda, Maakan) are the necessities for every individual and the Yogi government ensured that the flood-hit population of Uttar Pradesh had all three.

The government provided approximately ₹20 lakh to aid those whose household items were destroyed by the disaster. Around ₹5 crore was allocated to compensate for 2,649 flood-damaged houses. The government also distributed 2,54,735 food grains and 8,54,517 lunch packets to the needy people.

Moreover, ₹2.58 lakh was granted to repair damaged cattle sheds.

Notably, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath frequently reassures the public that there is no shortage of funds to assist the underprivileged, and his actions in aiding flood victims across the state stand as a testament to this promise.

Relief Commissioner GS Naveen said, “Uttar Pradesh is highly vulnerable to disasters. In response, the Yogi government has implemented numerous critical measures over the past seven and a half years to mitigate the impact of such calamities.”

He added, “The government’s commitment to supporting disaster victims is evident, as they have consistently addressed the smallest needs of those affected by floods.”

Commissioner Naveen highlighted that, following CM Yogi’s directives, a total of ₹10,07,500 was distributed to 403 flood-affected families across nine districts, providing ₹2,500 per family for essentials. The highest aid was given to 94 families in Lakhimpur Kheri, followed by 82 in Shahjahanpur, 60 in Shravasti, 52 in Ballia, 46 in Kushinagar, 28 in Bahraich, 21 in Farrukhabad, and ten families each in Balrampur and Siddharth Nagar.

Similarly, ₹9,55,000 was distributed to 382 families across eight flood-affected districts to compensate for damaged utensils and other household items. Each family received ₹2,500, ensuring an equitable distribution of relief. The highest assistance was provided to 94 families in Lakhimpur Kheri, followed by 82 in Shahjahanpur, 60 in Shravasti, 52 in Ballia, 46 in Kushinagar, 28 in Bahraich, and 10 families each in Balrampur and Siddharthnagar.

Additionally, ₹2,58,000 was allocated to repair 86 damaged cattle sheds in the same eight districts. The funds were distributed among 37 cattle sheds in Lakhimpur Kheri, 18 in Hardoi, 17 in Pilibhit, 4 in Balrampur, 3 each in Bahraich and Shahjahanpur, and 2 each in Shravasti and Siddharthnagar.
