Doordarshan News Director Visits Lunglei

Lunglei : The Doordarshan Aizawl News Director, Mr. Nampibou Marinmai IIS, visited Lunglei today. During his visit, he held meetings with key government officials in the district and toured several significant locations.

Mr. Marinmai paid a visit to Lunglei Superintendent of Police (SP) Mr. J. Lalmuankima. The discussion centered around strengthening collaboration between the police and the media to ensure better communication and transparency in news dissemination. The Director emphasized the importance of cooperation between Doordarshan and the police, highlighting the need for a unified effort in delivering credible and accurate news. SP Lalmuankima, in turn, elaborated on the various initiatives undertaken to maintain law and order and stressed the importance of coordinated efforts between the police and journalists in covering events responsibly.

Additionally, Mr. Marinmai visited the District I&PR office, where he engaged in discussions with its staff. He noted that Lunglei, with its unique heritage and natural beauty, has significant potential for growth in tourism and media representation. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to present Lunglei as a clean, vibrant, and hospitable destination.

The Director also visited some historically and culturally important sites, including Mizoram’s oldest church at BCM Sethlun and the historic settlement at Ramthar Veng. These visits underscored his commitment to understanding and showcasing Lunglei’s cultural and historical richness through media.
