Raghav Chadha Defends Punjab Record Amid AAP Rift, Calls Allegations ‘Baseless’
New Delhi, April 2026 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Sunday strongly defended his record of raising Punjab-related issues in Parliament, pushing back against criticism from within his own party and terming the allegations against him as “baseless.”
Chadha shared a video clip from the Rajya Sabha on social media platform X, showcasing his interventions on Punjab’s issues. In his post, he asserted his deep connection with the state, stating that Punjab is not just a political subject for him but his “home, duty, soil, and soul.” He added that the clip was only a “small trailer,” indicating that there was much more evidence of his work yet to be highlighted.
The response comes amid growing internal tensions within the AAP, following his removal as the party’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha. Addressing the controversy, Chadha said he initially chose to remain silent but decided to speak out as repeated allegations risked being perceived as truth. “Three allegations, zero truth,” he remarked, dismissing the claims made against him.
In a series of posts and a video message, Chadha countered accusations that he failed to raise Punjab’s concerns in Parliament or support the party during key moments. He alleged that a “scripted campaign” was being run against him, pointing out that similar questions and accusations were being repeated in a coordinated manner.
Rejecting claims that he did not participate in opposition walkouts, Chadha called the allegation a “white lie.” He even suggested that CCTV footage from Parliament could be reviewed to verify his presence and participation, asserting that facts would contradict the narrative being circulated against him.
The controversy has brought to the surface underlying differences within the party, with Chadha positioning himself firmly in defense of his parliamentary performance. He reiterated that he has consistently raised issues concerning Punjab in the Rajya Sabha and remains committed to representing the interests of the state and its people.
While the AAP leadership has yet to publicly elaborate on the reasons behind the allegations, the episode signals a phase of internal friction within the party. Chadha’s public rebuttal reflects his attempt to set the record straight and reaffirm his political credibility.
As the situation unfolds, the focus remains on how the party addresses the internal discord and whether efforts will be made to resolve differences. For now, Chadha has made it clear that he intends to continue raising Punjab’s concerns in Parliament, regardless of the criticism he faces.
