Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for Works Worth Over ₹280 Crore in Lundra, Surguja

Raipur, April 9, 2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development works worth more than ₹280 crore in Lundra of Surguja district.

Addressing a large gathering of farmers and local residents at a farmers’ conference organised on the occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that all these projects will not only strengthen basic infrastructure but will also give new momentum to the overall and balanced development of the region.

Describing the occasion as historic for the Surguja region, the Chief Minister said that after many years, such a large-scale development initiative is being seen together on the land of Lundra. He informed that out of the total ₹281 crore works, projects worth ₹28 crore have been inaugurated, while works worth ₹253 crore have been laid for foundation. He appreciated the efforts of regional public representatives, stating that due to their continuous efforts, Surguja has also received air connectivity from Ambikapur to Delhi and Kolkata, which will accelerate both connectivity and development.

Addressing farmers, the Chief Minister said that the state government is fully sensitive towards their interests and is continuously taking concrete steps to increase their income. He said that paddy is being procured at the rate of 21 quintals per acre at ₹3100 per quintal, with payments ensured within 24 to 48 hours. Along with this, under the Kisan Unnati Yojana, the difference amount is also being transferred directly into farmers’ accounts in a time-bound manner, strengthening their financial condition.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several historic initiatives have been taken for farmers’ welfare, including the Kisan Credit Card and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, which are being effectively implemented by the state government.

Highlighting government achievements, the Chief Minister said that within 24 hours of taking oath, approval for 18 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas houses was granted, out of which more than 8 lakh houses have already been completed and handed over to beneficiaries. Under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, thousands of families from particularly vulnerable tribal groups are being provided basic facilities like housing, electricity, water, and roads.

He further stated that the Bastar region, which suffered from violence for decades, is now entering a new era of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with the courage of security forces. Special housing has also been approved for surrendered Naxalites to help integrate them into the mainstream.

The Chief Minister said that under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, about 70 lakh women in the state are receiving monthly financial assistance, improving stability and dignity in their lives. He also mentioned increased tendu leaf collection rates, revival of the Charan Paduka Yojana, and establishment of transparent governance.

He added that five new medical colleges are being established in the state and emergency health services have been strengthened with the launch of 375 new ambulance services. He also highlighted the Mukhyamantri Electricity Bill Payment Solution Scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government’s aim is not just to announce schemes but to ensure their effective implementation at the grassroots level so that the benefits of development reach every individual.

On this occasion, he also made several key announcements for the Lundra region, including construction of a modern stadium, development of a road connecting Sanna–Jashpur–Dhanwarpur–Surguja to Varanasi, establishment of a new rest house at the block headquarters, and setting up of an agricultural sub-market.

MP Chintamani Maharaj, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, and other public representatives present at the event praised the development works being carried out under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, calling it a reflection of the government’s commitment to public welfare.
