Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM 2026) Curtain Raiser: A Unified Platform for Farmers, Scientists, Investors and Policymakers
Jaipur, April 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Friday said that strengthening farmers is key to the progress of both the state and the nation, as he addressed the curtain raiser event of the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM 2026). The event, scheduled to be held in Jaipur from May 23 to 25, aims to bring together farmers, scientists, investors, and policymakers on a single platform to foster dialogue for farmer welfare and empowerment.
Highlighting the government’s commitment, Sharma said that the state is determined to build a robust agricultural ecosystem to enhance farmers’ income. He noted that GRAM 2026 will provide farmers from across Rajasthan an opportunity to learn about the latest modern farming techniques and understand globally benchmarked agricultural systems.
To ensure widespread outreach, the Chief Minister announced that from April 15, awareness chariots will be sent to Gram Panchayat levels across the state. These will promote farmer welfare schemes and include suggestion boxes, allowing farmers to share feedback and ideas related to government initiatives.
Describing GRAM 2026 as a collaborative platform, Sharma said it would enable meaningful interaction among stakeholders and allow farmers to benefit from academic, institutional, and expert insights in agriculture and allied sectors. He also referred to the recent Western Regional Zonal Conference held in Jaipur, where key issues like agricultural productivity, water management, crop protection, and natural farming were discussed in detail.
The Chief Minister urged farmers to adopt scientific farming practices and limit the use of chemical fertilizers. He stressed the importance of soil testing-based agriculture to preserve soil fertility for future generations. He also encouraged the use of modern irrigation techniques such as sprinkler systems for better water conservation.
Providing an overview of Rajasthan’s agricultural achievements, Sharma said the state ranks first in the production of bajra, mustard, oilseeds, barley, and guar; second in moong and groundnut; and third in soybean production.
On farmer welfare initiatives, Sharma highlighted that micro-irrigation systems have been installed across 4.8 lakh hectares in the state. Additionally, 12,476 water storage structures have been built, and over 32,918 kilometers of irrigation pipelines have been laid. Under the Mukhyamantri Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana, more than 12 lakh livestock have been insured free of cost. He added that 1962 mobile veterinary services and 536 mobile units have treated nearly 60 lakh animals, benefiting over 15 lakh livestock owners.
He also mentioned that under the Mukhyamantri Dugdh Utpadak Sambal Yojana, milk producers are being provided a direct incentive of Rs 5 per litre to improve their financial condition.
Sharma further noted that during the first year of his government, the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit resulted in over Rs 43,000 crore worth of investment proposals in the agriculture sector through 2,539 MoUs.
He added that farmers are receiving Rs 6,000 annually under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, along with an additional Rs 3,000 under the state’s Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, which is planned to be increased to Rs 12,000 in the future.
Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena said the government is focused on encouraging farmers to move beyond traditional practices and adopt modern technologies. He emphasized that GRAM 2026 will connect farmers with global experts and innovations, helping them achieve prosperity.
