Government Of Canada Supports The Expansion Of Indian Promoted Sai Krishna Foods In Cap-Pele.

Cap-Pelé, New Brunswick; April 2026: The Government of Canada is committed in supporting the Atlantic Canadian businesses as they expand, innovate, and create good jobs. Recently, Sai Krishna Foods marked a major milestone for the growing New Brunswick food manufacturer with the completion of its newly upgraded food production facility in Cap‑Pelé.

Sai Krishna Foods is a family owned and operated business by Raman and Shikha Sobti. After immigrating to New Brunswick in 2017, Raman Sobti, a culinary professional with 26 years of international experience with Marriott International, began making samosas for local markets. The enthusiastic community response inspired Raman and Shikha to incorporate the business in 2019.

Since then, the company expanded steadily and secured partnerships with major distributors, including Sobeys, Sysco, Gordon Food Service, as well as hospitals and universities across Atlantic Canada. The company is pursuing expansion into national retail chains and new North American markets.

Today (14th April 2026), Dominic LeBlanc, President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister responsible for Canada-US Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, Internal Trade and One Canadian Economy, and Member of Parliament for Beauséjour, announced federal support to Sai Krishna Foods to expand and upgrade its production facility and acquire new equipment to accelerate its growth ($541,000, repayable). In addition, the Province of New Brunswick, through Opportunities New Brunswick, will provide up to $50,000 in the form a non-repayable contribution toward productivity improvements.

The announcement was made on behalf of the Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. The funding announced today is provided through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency’s Regional Economic Growth through Innovation program.

Today’s announcement demonstrates the Government of Canada’s commitment to building a stronger economy by investing in productivity, innovation, and stronger supply chains, to ensure firms have access to the support they need to adapt, modernize, and pursue new market opportunities.

The newly renovated Cap‑Pelé facility provides increased production capacity, improved operational efficiency, and space to support future growth. The company currently employs 08 people and expects to hire additional staff in the coming months.
