New York, April 2026 : In a significant diplomatic development, Donald Trump on Tuesday indicated that negotiations between the United States and Iran could resume within the next few days, raising cautious hopes for de-escalation in a conflict that has now stretched beyond six weeks.

Speaking over the phone to a reporter from the New York Post, Trump suggested that talks were actively being considered and could restart imminently. “You should stay there, really, because something could be happening over the next two days,” he said, hinting that the discussions may take place in Islamabad instead of Europe, as previously speculated. He added that a restart of talks was “more likely,” even as he acknowledged that earlier discussions had progressed slowly.

The conflict, now in its 45th day, began following Israeli strikes aimed at Iran’s leadership, with the United States subsequently joining the military campaign.
