Rahul Gandhi Invites Students to Join Congress’ ‘Chhatron ki Goonj’ Campaign Against Exam Irregularities
New Delhi, June 2026 : Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday appealed to students preparing for competitive examinations and young job seekers to participate in large numbers in the Congress party’s nationwide agitation, “Chhatron ki Goonj,” which is set to begin in Rajasthan’s Kota on June 17.
The campaign, aimed at highlighting issues affecting India’s youth, will focus on recurring examination paper leaks, recruitment irregularities, unemployment, cancelled exams and delays in government hiring processes.
Addressing students through a message on social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi acknowledged the frustration and anger among young aspirants facing uncertainty over their futures.
“I know you’re exhausted. You’re angry. But remember this — when the government refuses to listen, you have to raise your voice louder,” Gandhi wrote.
Calling for collective action, he urged students to unite and make their concerns heard across the country.
“Let’s come together and become a roar that can’t be ignored. Starting from Kota — then reaching every corner of the country. This is a fight for your future. And I’m with you,” he added.
According to Congress leaders, the nationwide campaign seeks to draw attention to challenges faced by millions of students and job aspirants who have been affected by repeated paper leaks, rising examination fees, recruitment delays and what the party describes as a lack of transparency in the education and recruitment systems.
The campaign will formally begin in Kota, widely regarded as India’s coaching capital and home to thousands of students preparing for competitive examinations. During the launch event, Rahul Gandhi is expected to interact directly with students and aspirants to hear their concerns.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal earlier announced the programme, stating that Gandhi would address student conventions in various cities across the country.
“Rahul Gandhi will engage directly with students and competitive exam aspirants beginning from Kota,” Venugopal said.
The first phase of the campaign will continue in several major cities. According to the Congress, student conventions are scheduled to be held in Allahabad on July 10, Patna on July 11 and Delhi on July 14.
The party has alleged that repeated examination irregularities and rising unemployment are jeopardising the future of millions of young Indians. Through the campaign, it aims to mobilise students, teachers, youth organisations and job aspirants while raising these concerns at the national level.
Kota District Congress President Rakhi Gautam and Kota Rural Congress President Bhanu Pratap Singh said the city was chosen as the starting point of the movement because of its significance as the country’s premier coaching hub.
They added that Rahul Gandhi had been invited to visit Kota during a recent conference in Pushkar, paving the way for the launch of the nationwide campaign from the city.
With youth-related issues increasingly shaping political discourse, the Congress hopes the “Chhatron ki Goonj” campaign will amplify the voices of students and job seekers across the country.
