Rasikh Dar’s Four-Wicket Haul Helps RCB Bowl Out LSG for 146 in IPL 2026 Clash
Bengaluru, April 2026 : A superb bowling performance led by Rasikh Salam Dar powered Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to restrict Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to a modest total of 146 in 20 overs during the 23rd match of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday.
After being put in to bat, LSG struggled to find momentum early on as their openers, Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram, found it difficult to break through RCB’s disciplined new-ball attack led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. The duo managed just 14 runs in the first two overs, highlighting the pressure applied by the bowlers.
Marsh attempted to shift gears in the third over, smashing a massive six off Bhuvneshwar, while Markram followed suit with a maximum in the next over. However, Markram’s innings was cut short on the final delivery of that over when he mistimed a slower ball from Rasikh and was caught by Devdutt Padikkal for 12.
LSG’s troubles deepened when skipper Rishabh Pant was forced to retire hurt after injuring his elbow, having faced only three balls. His replacement, Nicholas Pooran, failed to make an impact and was clean bowled by Hazlewood in the seventh over.
Amid the early setbacks, Marsh anchored the innings alongside Ayush Badoni, adding a brisk 36 runs off 22 balls. Just as the partnership looked promising, Krunal Pandya struck in the 10th over, bowling Marsh for a well-made 40 off 32 balls, which included three boundaries and two sixes.
Krunal continued his impactful spell by dismissing Abdul Samad for a duck in his next over, further denting LSG’s hopes of recovery. Badoni then took on the responsibility of stabilising the innings, stitching together a partnership with youngster Mukul Choudhary. The pair rotated the strike effectively while picking up occasional boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking.
However, the rebuilding effort was halted in the 16th over when Badoni edged a slower delivery from Rasikh to the wicketkeeper after scoring a fluent 38 off 24 balls. Pant later returned to the crease but looked out of rhythm and was dismissed for just one run in the 17th over.
Mukul continued to fight from the other end, contributing a valuable 39 off 28 balls, but lacked support as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. He was eventually bowled by Rasikh in the final over, bringing an end to LSG’s innings at 146.
Rasikh Salam Dar emerged as the standout bowler for RCB, finishing with impressive figures of 4 for 24. Bhuvneshwar Kumar provided excellent support with three wickets, while Josh Hazlewood maintained tight control, conceding just 20 runs in his four overs and picking up a wicket.
With a disciplined bowling display, RCB gained the upper hand in the contest, setting themselves up well in the chase against an underwhelming LSG total.
Brief Scores: Lucknow Super Giants 146/10 in 20 overs (Mitchell Marsh 40, Mukul Choudhary 39; Rasikh Dar 4-24, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 3-27 ) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
