‘Pushpak Viman’ Introduced for Orchha under PM Shri Heli Service: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Lord Shri Ram is revered as a king in Orchha, and to facilitate devotees visiting for darshan, a Pushpak aircraft arrangement has been introduced for Orchha under the PM Shri Heli Service. On the auspicious occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti, Madhya Pradesh is taking a historic step forward in tourism. Today, the PM Shri Heli Tourism Service has been launched for the Bhopal–Orchha and Chanderi sectors. Both cities included in this service are prominent heritage destinations of the state.
Chief Minister Dr Yadav said that Chanderi is also associated with Lord Shri Ram and Lord Shri Krishna and is renowned as a city of mythological, spiritual, historical, and touristic significance. He added that several states, including Maharashtra, are drawing inspiration from Madhya Pradesh’s rapidly growing aviation sector. He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the new Bhopal–Chanderi–Orchha sector under the PM Shri Heli Tourism Service at the State Hangar in Bhopal.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav distributed boarding passes to passengers and flagged off the helicopter service. He said that the objective of the heli tourism service is to make tourism and religious travel in the state convenient, safe, and enjoyable. The event was attended by the New and Renewable Energy Minister and Ashoknagar district in-charge Shri Rakesh Shukla, Bhopal Mayor Smt. Malti Rai and Shri S. Ram Ola of Fly Ola.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Bhagwan Parshuram, endowed with devotion, courage, determination, valour, knowledge, generosity, and noble character, always fought against injustice. His life continues to inspire people in every era. On the occasion of his birth anniversary, this PM Shri Heli Tourism Service is being dedicated to the people of the state. He stated that the state government is working equitably for all sections of society and that Madhya Pradesh was the first in the country to introduce the PM Shri Air Ambulance service to provide medical assistance to those in need.
He said that Madhya Pradesh, with its vast geographical expanse, has immense potential in the religious, cultural, wildlife, and tourism sectors. This will expand tourism activities in the state, which in turn will boost economic activities and create new employment opportunities. Promoting tourism is a priority of the state government. Air services are being expanded across the state, along with development in rail, road, bus, and water transport. He congratulated Madhya Pradesh Tourism for promoting tourism activities and improving connectivity to tourist destinations.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that the heli tourism service was first launched in the Omkareshwar–Mahakaleshwar–Indore sector, followed by Kanha–Bandhavgarh–Maihar–Amarkantak–Chitrakoot. Today, the third sector has been launched. Under the PM Shri Heli Tourism Service, the fare has been fixed at ₹2,750 from Chanderi to Orchha, ₹5,500 from Bhopal to Chanderi, and ₹6,500 from Bhopal to Orchha. The Bhopal–Orchha package is priced at ₹14,500, which includes ₹13,000 for the helicopter fare, ₹1,150 for taxi charges, and ₹350 for temple visit arrangements and prasad.
He further informed that the state government is providing substantial support under a matching grant scheme to ensure the operation of this service and promote tourism in Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also handed over boarding passes to the first passengers of the new sector, Shri Avadhesh Prasad Shukla, Smt. Rewati Shukla and Shri Ramashankar Shukla. It was informed during the event that a modern six-seater helicopter is being used for the service. Tourists can make bookings through the Fly Ola website and the IRCTC portal.
