Rural Drinking Water System Strengthened Under CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur, April 2026 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government is working with commitment to strengthen the drinking water system in rural areas.

Following the Chief Minister’s directions, a state-wide intensive inspection of works under the Jal Jeevan Mission, AMRUT scheme, summer contingency works, damaged pipelines, and handpumps was carried out by district administration and Public Health Engineering Department officials. During this, pipeline leakages and handpumps were repaired and restored at thousands of locations.

During the two-day statewide special campaign conducted on April 18 and 19, District Collectors, Additional District Collectors, Chief Executive Officers, Sub-Divisional Officers, Tehsildars, and Block Development Officers, along with technical officials of the Public Health Engineering Department, visited villages to inspect works. Issues were resolved on the spot by carrying out immediate repair work.

Under this campaign, a total of 2,677 works were inspected, including 407 under the Jal Jeevan Mission, 80 under AMRUT, 77 under summer contingency works, along with blocked handpumps and damaged pipelines.

Similarly, around 450 teams of technical staff and engineers documented 2,792 complaints and resolved 2,775 of them. These included repair of 1,535 handpumps, fixing of 911 pipeline leakages, and completion of 329 other improvement works.
