MoU Signed for Foreign Language Communication Skills Programme; CM Bhajanlal Sharma Highlights Youth Empowerment and Transparency in Exams

Jaipur, May 2026: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that incidents like paper leaks during the previous government led to injustice for the youth, but his government has freed them from such issues. He stated that so far, 351 examinations have been conducted with complete transparency and not a single paper leak has occurred. He added that the state government is connecting youth with skills along with employment, enabling them to become job creators rather than job seekers.

The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering at Birla Auditorium during the MoU signing programme for the Foreign Language Communication Skills initiative. Referring to Swami Vivekananda, he urged youth to learn foreign languages and make their mark globally. He said that taking forward the skill development vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government has signed MoUs with English and Foreign Languages University and National Skill Development Corporation. Through these agreements, youth will get opportunities to learn languages such as French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean.

He emphasized that in today’s world, learning foreign languages has become a necessity as it opens up employment opportunities in multinational companies, international organizations, and abroad. It also acts as a bridge between foreign tourists, entrepreneurs, and local industries.

Highlighting Rajasthan’s tourism potential, he said foreign languages hold special importance for the state as tourists from across the globe visit frequently. With the growth of the tourism industry, opportunities for guides, hotel managers, travel agents, and traders proficient in foreign languages have increased.

The Chief Minister also spoke about efforts to strengthen education infrastructure, stating that 71 new government colleges have been opened and buildings for 185 colleges constructed, compared to only 57 college buildings during the previous government’s tenure. He added that the state has linked education with employment, introduced a State Skill Policy and Youth Policy, and provided jobs to over 1.25 lakh candidates. Recruitment for 1.33 lakh posts is underway, and a recruitment calendar for another 1.25 lakh posts has been released. Additionally, around 3 lakh jobs have been created in the private sector.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the youth of Rajasthan possess natural talent in hard work, innovation, entrepreneurship, and cultural adaptability. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, youth today are moving beyond degrees and certificates towards skill enhancement. He noted that the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union will open up more employment opportunities related to foreign languages.

He added that language is not just a medium of communication but also a tool to connect and understand society. The National Education Policy 2020 emphasizes multilingual and international education, which will create new employment avenues. He also mentioned that in the future, Rajasthan’s folk tales, such as the story of Prithviraj Chauhan, could be translated into foreign languages and reach a global audience.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the education policy has prioritized mother tongues in primary education, strengthening cultural roots while building confidence. He added that the MoUs on foreign language communication skills will open global opportunities for Indian students and provide a platform for their talent worldwide.

Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa said that these MoUs are not just formal agreements but effective tools to connect youth with opportunities. Minister of State for Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship K.K. Vishnoi stated that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the talent of youth is being nurtured.

On the occasion, MoUs were exchanged between the state government and the English and Foreign Languages University for the Foreign Language Communication Skills Programme, and with the National Skill Development Corporation for setting up a Skill India International Centre in Jaipur. Additional MoUs were also signed under the National Entrepreneur Empowerment Drive. The journal of the English and Foreign Languages University was also released.

The Chief Minister also interacted with youth during the programme. Chief Secretary V Srinivas, Higher Education Secretary Dr. Vineet Joshi, academicians, and a large number of young participants were present, while many others joined virtually through VC and the My Bharat portal.
