Telangana Prepares for PM Modi’s May 10 Visit, CS Reviews Arrangements
Hyderabad, May 2026 : Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Tuesday conducted a high-level review meeting to assess preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Hyderabad on May 10, directing officials to ensure seamless coordination across departments for the high-profile event.
The meeting, held at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, focused on security, infrastructure, and logistical arrangements ahead of the Prime Minister’s programme. Senior officials from multiple departments attended the review and were assigned specific responsibilities to ensure smooth execution.
During his visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate several key development projects and address a large public gathering at the Parade Grounds. In view of the scale of the programme, the Chief Secretary emphasised strict adherence to established protocols and timely completion of all preparatory work.
The Police Department has been directed to implement comprehensive security measures, including law and order management, traffic regulation, and bandobast arrangements in accordance with the Blue Book protocol. Authorities have been instructed to ensure foolproof security along the Prime Minister’s route as well as at all venues associated with the visit.
The Fire Services Department has been tasked with deploying adequate fire tenders at key locations such as Begumpet Airport, helipads, and event venues to address any emergency situations. Similarly, the Health Department has been asked to ensure the availability of medical teams, ambulances, and emergency response systems.
Officials from the Police, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and the Roads & Buildings Department have been instructed to inspect all routes that will be used by the Prime Minister’s convoy. Any repair or maintenance work identified during inspections is to be completed on a priority basis to ensure smooth movement.
The Electricity Department has been directed to guarantee uninterrupted power supply across all venues and routes, with contingency measures in place to prevent disruptions. Stressing the importance of coordination, the Chief Secretary called on all departments to work in close collaboration to ensure the success of the visit.
The review meeting was attended by senior officials, including Director General of Police C V. Anand, Special Chief Secretaries Vikas Raj, Navin Mitta, Dana Kishore and Vani Prasad, Home Secretary Shikha Goel, Intelligence ADG Anil Kumar, Police Commissioners V. C. Sajjanar, Ramesh and Sumathi, Fire Services DG Vikram Singh Mann, and GHMC Commissioner R. V. Karnan, among others.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar expressed enthusiasm about the Prime Minister’s visit, stating that he looks forward to attending the public meeting at Parade Grounds as a BJP “karyakarta”. In a social media post, he described the Prime Minister as a leader who has redefined governance and strengthened national pride.
He called on party workers and citizens to extend a grand welcome to the Prime Minister, noting that this will be Modi’s first visit to Telangana after assuming office for a third term. According to him, the Centre remains committed to the state’s development.
The Prime Minister is expected to dedicate projects worth approximately ₹7,823 crore during the visit, underscoring the significance of the programme for Telangana’s infrastructure and development agenda.
