Rajasthan Emerging as a Role Model in Women Empowerment Through Rajeevika: Chief Secretary
Jaipur, May 2026: Chief Secretary Mr. V. Srinivas on Wednesday chaired the 21st Executive Committee meeting of the Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (Rajeevika) at the Government Secretariat.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary appreciated the work being carried out by Rajeevika and described it as a significant initiative towards strengthening rural livelihoods and women’s empowerment in the state.
A detailed review of the action plan for the financial year 2026-27 was conducted during the meeting, with special focus on the implementation of budget announcements and the initiatives launched by Rajeevika. The Chief Secretary emphasized the need for close monitoring of financial models to ensure effective execution of schemes and achievement of desired outcomes.
He also directed departments to hold regular coordination meetings at a broader level to ensure integrated and efficient implementation of various schemes through better inter-departmental cooperation.
Appreciating the remarkable achievements of the Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi, the Chief Secretary said that despite disbursing loans worth more than Rs 850 crore, maintaining non-performing assets (NPA) below 2 per cent reflects the discipline, commitment and financial responsibility of women associated with Self Help Groups (SHGs), Village Organisations (VOs) and Cluster Level Federations (CLFs).
Highlighting the importance of women-led livelihood initiatives, he instructed officials to develop stronger market linkages for products manufactured by Self Help Groups and enhance their visibility. He stressed the need to ensure the availability of these products at outlets, malls, tourist destinations and other high-footfall locations.
The Chief Secretary lauded Rajeevika’s efforts in empowering nearly 51 lakh women across Rajasthan. He underlined the importance of continuous mentoring and support for women who have already benefited under the “Lakhpati Didi” initiative.
He also directed officials to prepare a roadmap for increasing the number of “Lakhpati Didis” and to work towards implementing the concept of “Millionaire Didi” at the grassroots level.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Mr. Dinesh Kumar; Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department, Mr. Vikas Sitaram Ji Bhale; Secretary, Rural Development Department, Mr. Krishna Kunal; and senior officials of concerned departments.
