Mizoram Police Launches “Year of Discipline” Campaign

Aizawl, May 2026: The Mizoram Police officially launched the year 2026–2027 as the “Year of Discipline” during a programme held on May 6, 2026, under the leadership of Home Minister Pu K. Sapdanga. Following the announcement, all police units across Mizoram observed the initiative on Monday by organising formal programmes in their respective locations.

The “Year of Discipline” is a continuation and strengthening of the ongoing “Train to Excel” initiative under the Mizoram Police Fitness Improvement Programme, which has been in operation for more than a year. The programme has been introduced with the objective of improving the physical fitness, mental strength, and overall well-being of Mizoram Police personnel, enabling them to perform their duties more effectively and efficiently.

The initiative has been designed under the guidance of the Home Minister, focusing on enhancing the physical, mental, and spiritual health of police personnel so that they can deliver better service to society and carry out their responsibilities with greater commitment and discipline.

Officials stated that the programme reflects the government’s emphasis on building a more capable and professional police force, capable of meeting modern law enforcement challenges while maintaining high standards of discipline and integrity.

The “Year of Discipline” will be implemented rigorously across all Mizoram Police establishments. It is mandatory for all ranks—from the highest officers to the lowest personnel—to actively participate and strictly adhere to the guidelines of the programme.

The Mizoram Police aim to strengthen their effectiveness in enforcing law and order across the state through this initiative. The focus will be on improving discipline, accountability, physical fitness, and operational efficiency within the force.

Authorities further stated that the programme is not limited to physical training alone but also seeks to instil a culture of discipline and professionalism in daily police functioning. Regular training sessions, fitness activities, and awareness programmes will be conducted throughout the year.

The initiative is expected to significantly improve the overall performance of the police force and enhance public trust in law enforcement institutions.

With the launch of the “Year of Discipline,” the Mizoram Police reaffirmed their commitment to becoming a more reliable, disciplined, and efficient force dedicated to maintaining peace, security, and law and order in the state.
