CM Hemant Soren Distributes Appointment Letters to New Teachers in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Jharkhand, May 2026 Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended a major appointment letter distribution ceremony in Ranchi for newly appointed Intermediate and Graduate Trained Assistant Teachers and Anganwadi Supervisors. The event marked a significant milestone in the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the education system, expand employment opportunities for youth, and ensure inclusive development across Jharkhand.

During the programme held at the Jharkhand Ministry, the Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to 160 teachers for Classes 1 to 5, 156 teachers for Classes 6 to 8, and 17 Anganwadi Supervisors. The atmosphere at the venue was filled with enthusiasm and pride as hundreds of newly selected candidates and their families gathered to witness the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Hemant Soren congratulated all the selected candidates and said that their appointment is not just a personal achievement but a responsibility towards society and the state. He emphasized that teachers and supervisors play a crucial role in shaping the future of children and ensuring that government welfare schemes reach the last mile.

He said that the government expects the newly appointed employees to work with complete honesty, dedication, and a sense of service. According to him, they are not merely employees but representatives of the state government in society, and through their work, the benefits of various development schemes must reach the most marginalized sections of the population.

The Chief Minister stressed that Jharkhand has a large population of tribal communities, Dalits, and economically weaker sections, many of whom have historically been left behind in the development process. He said that the government is committed to bridging this gap and ensuring that no citizen is deprived of education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities.

Highlighting the importance of education reforms, CM Soren said that the “CM School of Excellence” initiative is being implemented to bring a transformative change in the state’s education system. He said that the objective of this initiative is to improve the basic infrastructure of schools, enhance teaching quality, and ensure that students receive modern and effective education comparable to national standards.

He further added that education is the foundation of a strong society, and without improving learning outcomes, overall development cannot be achieved. The government, he said, is continuously working to upgrade schools, provide training to teachers, and ensure that children in rural and remote areas receive equal educational opportunities.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s focus on transparent recruitment. He said that unlike several other states where irregularities and paper leaks have affected recruitment processes, Jharkhand has ensured a fair and transparent selection system. He noted that over 9,000 youth have been given jobs in the education sector in the last four months alone, while more than 16,000 appointments have been made over the past two years.

He added that since the formation of the present government in 2024, recruitment processes across multiple departments have been accelerated, and efforts will continue to generate more employment opportunities for the youth of the state. The government, he said, is committed to strengthening human resources across sectors such as education, health, rural development, and social welfare.

Referring to the importance of teachers, CM Soren said that they are the foundation of nation-building. He observed that a teacher not only imparts knowledge but also shapes values, discipline, and character among students. He urged the newly appointed teachers to dedicate themselves to building a strong and responsible generation.

He also emphasized that some teachers are often reluctant to serve in remote and rural areas, but true development can only be achieved when services reach every village and every child. He said that those appointed must be prepared to work in challenging conditions, especially in tribal and backward regions, where educational infrastructure is still developing.

The Chief Minister also spoke about the government’s flagship welfare initiative, the “Maiyaan Samman Yojana,” under which financial assistance is being provided to nearly 60 lakh women in the state. He said that the scheme has played a crucial role in empowering women economically and socially, helping them become self-reliant.

He proudly mentioned that many daughters of beneficiaries under this scheme have achieved significant positions in society, including becoming collectors and officers in various departments. He said that this reflects the positive impact of empowering women at the grassroots level.

CM Soren stated that the participation of women in the mainstream development process is essential for achieving holistic growth. He said that in the past, women were often confined within household boundaries, but now they are stepping forward in education, employment, and leadership roles.

He further emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for women in every sector and is continuously working to strengthen schemes related to women and child development.

The Chief Minister also spoke about healthcare reforms, stating that unnecessary delays in referral systems in government hospitals are being addressed. He said that administrative improvements are being made to ensure that patients receive timely treatment and that only critical cases are referred to higher medical institutions.

He added that infrastructure in the healthcare sector is being strengthened so that quality medical services are accessible even in rural areas. He said that health, education, and employment remain the three main pillars of the state’s development agenda.

CM Soren also reiterated that inclusive development is only possible when all sections of society are brought into the mainstream. He said that the government is working with a vision of ensuring dignity, opportunity, and justice for every citizen of Jharkhand.

The Chief Minister concluded his address by extending best wishes to all newly appointed candidates. He expressed confidence that they would contribute significantly to the development of the state and help build a stronger, more educated, and more empowered Jharkhand.

The event was also attended by Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Labour and Employment Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, senior officials of the School Education and Literacy Department, and other dignitaries. A large number of newly appointed candidates and their family members were present at the ceremony, making it a significant and memorable occasion for all involved.
