Guardian Minister Performs Water Puja at Nathsagar
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : The Nathsagar Dam in Paithan is now 90% full, and today, the Minister of Finance, Minority Development, Endowments, and District Guardian Minister, Abdul Sattar, performed a water consecration ceremony at the reservoir. During the event, the Guardian Minister engaged with officials, gathered information about water discharge, and issued advance warnings to people living along the banks. He also emphasized the importance of raising public awareness about safety precautions and directed the disaster management team to remain on standby.
The ceremony was attended by several key officials, including Collector Dilip Swamy, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Vikas Meena, District Magistrate Neelam Bafna, Tehsildar Sarang Chavan, Executive Engineer of the Water Resources Department Prashant Jadhav, Superintending Engineer Sadhan Sabinwar, Sub-Divisional Engineer Raibole, and representatives from Water Resources and other departments, including Vilas Bhumre, Kishore Agarwal, and Ramesh Pawar. Guardian Minister Sattar performed the Jal Puja by offering a coconut and “saricholi” to the reservoir.
It was announced at the event that the Jayakwadi Dam’s water storage has reached nearly 90%. With rain continuing across the catchment area of the Jayakwadi project, the water inflow is expected to rise. Consequently, water discharge from the dam into the Godavari River basin will begin soon. Guardian Minister Sattar instructed officials to remain vigilant in villages near the riverbanks and ensure all systems are prepared for potential flood management.
Guardian Minister Inspects Heavy Rain Affected Areas; Orders Panchnama
Continuous rainfall has been occurring in the district for more than 24 hours, leading to reports of waterlogging in agricultural fields and flooding of rivers and canals in certain areas. In response, this morning, Finance Minister, Minority Development and Auqaf Minister, and District Guardian Minister Abdul Sattar visited Palgaon and Pimpalgaon in the Phulumbri area. He was accompanied by Collector Dilip Swamy, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Vikas Meena, District Magistrate Neelam Bafna, Palgaon Sarpanch Jaya Jadhav, local citizens, and farmers. Guardian Minister Sattar inspected the crop damage caused by heavy rains, spoke with affected farmers, and reassured them. He also instructed officials to conduct an assessment of the damage.
