Electric Vehicles Can Reduce Logistics Costs: Nitin Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the increased use of electric vehicles in freight transportation can significantly reduce fuel costs, support environmental protection, and ultimately lower overall logistics expenses.

He emphasized that sustainable transport solutions are key to making India’s logistics sector more efficient and cost-effective in the long run.

Project Details

In his introductory remarks, Director Mahavir Jain provided details about the logistics park project. Rajan Agrawal delivered the vote of thanks.

The Warehouse Logistics Park is one of the largest integrated industrial logistics parks in Central India. It has been developed over approximately 105 acres with a total warehouse capacity of 25 lakh square feet of high-quality Grade-A storage infrastructure.

The facility includes state-of-the-art smart warehousing systems powered by artificial intelligence, making it one of the most advanced logistics projects in the region.

The project is expected to generate around 15,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, giving a major boost to local economic development.

Strategically located, the park is well connected to National Highway 44 and the Samruddhi Expressway, ensuring seamless connectivity for freight movement across major industrial corridors.

With an investment of around ₹600 crore, the project also incorporates a solar power plant, reinforcing its focus on sustainable and energy-efficient operations.

Officials said the project will play a key role in strengthening Maharashtra’s logistics ecosystem and positioning Nagpur as a major logistics hub in central India.
