Chief Minister Hemant Soren Reviews Progress of Azim Premji Medical University Project in Ranchi

Ranchi, May 2026 : Chief Minister Hemant Soren today met Anurag Behar, CEO of the Azim Premji Foundation, at the Chief Minister’s Residential Office on Kanke Road in Ranchi.

During the courtesy meeting, the Chief Minister and Behar held detailed discussions on the progress of the Azim Premji Medical University, a 1,000-bed medical college and hospital, and a school being developed by the foundation in Ranchi.

The meeting also included positive deliberations on expanding collaboration between the state government and the foundation in the fields of education, healthcare, and nutrition. Both sides discussed possibilities for working together to strengthen social development initiatives and improve access to quality services in these sectors across Jharkhand.

The Chief Minister reviewed the status of the ongoing projects and emphasized the importance of quality educational and healthcare infrastructure in advancing the state’s development goals.

Also present on the occasion were Rakesh Tiwari, Jharkhand Head of the Azim Premji Foundation, and Kailash Kandpal, Project Head of the foundation.

The discussions reflected the shared commitment of the Jharkhand government and the Azim Premji Foundation toward enhancing educational opportunities, healthcare facilities, and nutritional support systems for the people of the state.
