HDSC Women’s Hockey Team Crowned Champions

Hnahthial : The Hnahthial District Sports Committee (HDSC) held a ceremony at the DC Conference Hall today to honor the Hnahthial Women’s Hockey Team, which emerged as the champion of the “Zoliana Royte Memorial 5S Hockey Tournament 2024.” The team was awarded Rs. 10,000 by the Hnahthial District Hockey Association.

District Chairperson, Pi Rita Lalnunmawii Pachuau, who is also the Chairman of the Hnahthial District Sports Committee (HDSC), praised the Hnahthial District Hockey team for their victory. She highlighted that this achievement reflects their dedication and skill in various sports disciplines. She emphasized the need for continuous improvement and support to maintain their high standards.

Pi Pachuau also mentioned that under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) scheme, a new turf ground for hockey is being developed, which will enhance facilities for players. She expressed her hope that this will further strengthen the talent pool, not only in Hnahthial District but across Mizoram and India.

The ceremony was attended by Pu Zothanmawia Khiangte, Additional DC, Pu Micky Lalenkawla, DEO, Pu H. Hmingthanzuala, and Pu C. Lalramdinsanga, who provided reports on the event. Officers from the DC office, members of the Hnahthial District Sports Committee, and the members of the champion team were also present.
