Patna, June 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday directed officials to establish 11 Mega Parks and Food Parks in all 38 districts of the state as part of an ambitious strategy to accelerate industrial growth, attract investments, and generate employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister issued the directions while chairing a high-level review meeting of the Industries Department at the ‘Sankalp Sabhagar’ located at Lok Sevak Awas. During the meeting, Industries Department Secretary Kundan Kumar presented a detailed overview of ongoing schemes, investment promotion initiatives, employment generation programmes, and future plans aimed at boosting industrial development in Bihar.
Addressing the meeting, Choudhary said industrial development would play a pivotal role in transforming Bihar’s economy and placing the state firmly on the path of prosperity. He emphasized that Bihar must achieve new milestones in industry, investment, and job creation.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure the availability of land for industrial projects and create a land bank of 50,000 acres to facilitate investment. He stressed that Bihar should be developed as an attractive destination for investors and entrepreneurs. According to him, the state possesses ample resources and potential, and the government’s foremost priority is to provide a conducive environment for setting up industries.
He further directed officials to hold regular consultations with industrialists, industry associations, and entrepreneurs, implement their practical suggestions, and ensure quick resolution of their concerns. He said strengthening investor confidence would be crucial for sustaining long-term industrial growth.
Choudhary also highlighted the need to position Bihar among the leading states in the country in terms of Ease of Doing Business. He specifically instructed officials to work towards establishing a Textile Industrial Centre in Bihar to strengthen the state’s manufacturing ecosystem and create employment opportunities. He also emphasized strengthening the startup ecosystem and creating new opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
Stressing the importance of infrastructure support, Choudhary directed officials to coordinate with relevant departments to expedite the process of making industrial land available. He asked district magistrates across the state to engage with landowners, ensure fair compensation, and facilitate smooth land acquisition for industrial projects.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to ensure that incentives promised to new industrial units are released on time. Timely financial support, he said, would help industries establish operations smoothly and encourage further investments.
During the meeting, officials reviewed various industrial promotion measures and discussed strategies to attract greater private investment into the state. The government’s vision includes creating a business-friendly environment while ensuring balanced industrial development across both urban and rural areas.
