Mrs. Premlata Rahangdale, a training officer at the Government Divisional Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Govindpura in Bhopal, is among those teachers who not only impart education but also dedicate themselves for giving new direction to the lives of their students. Her unwavering dedication, hard work, and firm belief in the potential of visually impaired students have earned her the honor of being selected for the National Teacher Award.

Mrs. Rahangdale began her teaching journey 11 years ago, with a single dream in mind – to bring out the hidden potential of the students and prepare them to stand strong in the face of life’s challenges. She says, “When I started this journey, my goal was to dispel the darkness in these children’s lives with the light of education. I believe that these children too, if given the right guidance and inspiration, can achieve greatness.”

Mrs. Rahangdale’s approach is not limited to teaching alone. She emphasizes the overall development of her students, so that they can establish their identity in every field of life. According to her, “My aim is to elevate my students to a level where they can contribute to society through confidence, literacy, and personality development.”

For students coming from rural and economically weaker families, Mrs. Rahangdale has emerged as a guiding light. She not only educates them but also prepares them to face the challenges life may throw their way. She says, “During my teaching journey, I realized that if these children are given the right direction, they too can achieve success, just like any other regular student.”

Mrs. Rahangdale’s dedication to her students has led to her selection for the National Teacher Award. This award not only recognizes her excellence in vocational training and entrepreneurship development but also symbolizes her hard work and dedication.

Mrs. Premlata Rahangdale’s inspirational journey sets an example for all those teachers who view education not just as a profession but as a means of transforming lives.
