Raipur, June 2026 : Under the state government’s Sushasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival), Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai held a unique and interactive public outreach programme in Nimdha village of Marwahi development block on Saturday.
Sitting on a traditional cot beneath the shade of a mango tree in the middle of the village, the Chief Minister interacted directly with residents, listened to their concerns, and obtained firsthand feedback on the implementation of government welfare schemes. He discussed issues related to electricity, drinking water, ration distribution, roads, healthcare, education and housing.
The Chief Minister said that the state-wide Sushasan Tihar campaign, being conducted from May 1 to June 10, aims to bring governance directly to the people and ensure prompt resolution of public grievances. He assured villagers that issues requiring immediate attention would be resolved on the spot, while others would be addressed within a fixed timeframe.
Major Announcements for Nimdha
During the public meeting, villagers and Marwahi MLA Pranav Kumar Marpachchi requested the establishment of a Nursing College, a Mini Stadium, and a large community hall (Mangal Bhavan) for all sections of society.
Respecting the sentiments of the people, Chief Minister Sai immediately approved and announced all three projects.
Action on Public Complaints
When villagers raised concerns regarding electricity supply, the Chief Minister sought details from officials on the spot and directed them to implement permanent solutions. He assured residents that necessary measures would be taken soon to improve power infrastructure.
A complaint related to the Revenue Department also surfaced during the interaction. Taking a firm stand, the Chief Minister issued a stern warning to the concerned revenue officials, directing them to resolve public grievances promptly or face strict action. His remarks underscored the government’s commitment to accountability and responsive governance.
Encouraging Women’s Economic Empowerment
Interacting with women from self-help groups and beneficiaries known as “Lakhpati Didis,” the Chief Minister encouraged them to aim even higher.
“Your goal should no longer be just becoming a Lakhpati Didi; now you should strive to become a Crorepati Didi,” he said.
Women informed him that the Mahtari Vandan Yojana was helping them meet household expenses, support children’s education and improve family welfare. The Chief Minister noted that the 28th instalment of the scheme had recently been transferred to the accounts of nearly 70 lakh women across the state.
He also highlighted the approval of 18 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana houses, which will significantly improve rural housing infrastructure.
CM Helpline and Rural Livelihoods
The Chief Minister announced that a CM Helpline would soon be launched, enabling citizens to register complaints through a toll-free number, email and WhatsApp. A dedicated system is being developed for quick and time-bound grievance redressal.
Women associated with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan) welcomed the Chief Minister and presented a basket of locally produced items, including Vishnu Bhog rice, black rice, honey, papad and laddoos. Appreciating their entrepreneurial spirit, Sai said self-help groups are becoming a powerful engine of rural economic growth.
During the event, he also released “Aajeevika Gatha,” a coffee table book documenting inspiring success stories of women from self-help groups across the district. He described the publication as a testament to the determination, hard work and achievements of rural women and said it would inspire many others toward self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
The programme was attended by public representatives, senior administrative officials and a large number of villagers.
