Debate and Address Program ‘Anand Solah’ Held in Udgir
Udgir : Anticipation filled the air as thousands of women gathered in Udgir from across the district, eager to hear the address by President Draupadi Murmu. The event was marked by a festive atmosphere, with everyone curious about the new message from the Chief Minister, also known as the brother of beloved sisters, and what Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis would bring to the table. The grounds of Maharashtra Udayagiri College in Udgir were adorned with posters, banners, and images of people greeting the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, adding to the joyous atmosphere of the program.
Various competitions were held during the event to entertain the attendees, including an Ukhane competition, Paithni saree distribution, slogan contests, and a unique dress code for all participants. The event was further enlivened by a musical concert celebrating the glory of Maharashtra, making the Anand Mela even more enjoyable.
A large number of women sarpanchs from across the district attended the event, wearing yellow fetas. They held placards showcasing ambitious state government schemes with photos of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and other Ministers. These placards highlighted various schemes focused on women’s empowerment, such as the Chief Minister’s Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, Lek Ladki Yojana, Youth Work Training Program Scheme, Tirtha Darshan Yojana, Vyoshree Yojana, and the Higher Education Free Scheme for Girls.
Attractive Decorations
To welcome dignitaries like President Draupadi Murmu and Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, decorative arches were erected along the main roads in the city. The event platform, located in Maharashtra Udayagiri College, was adorned with colorful bouquets. The platform featured busts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, alongside images of key figures like Ramabai Ambedkar, Savitribai Phule, Rajmata Jijau, and Punyashlok Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar, all of whom contributed to women’s empowerment in Maharashtra.
The Agriculture Department also created a unique display in front of the platform, making rangolis using various grains such as millet and bhagar, symbolically celebrating the Millet Year and encouraging citizens to include pulses in their diet through a ‘Millet Hut’ exhibit.
Meaningful Rangoli
While rangolis are typically appreciated for their artistic value, the rangoli at today’s Anand Mela conveyed a deeper message. Through its design, it highlighted the Chief Minister’s Beloved Sister Scheme and promoted the importance of cereals.
Attractive Cutouts of Dignitaries
Cutouts of President Draupadi Murmu, Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Guardian Minister Girish Mahajan, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sanjay Bansode, and Women and Child Welfare Minister Smt. Aditi Tatkare were prominently displayed around the city and at the event venue.
At the start of the main program, various cultural performances were presented by Prof. Sandipan Jagdale and his team, as well as Jallosh Group from Nagpur, and Yedve and Bidarkar Guruji from Solapur. The performances captivated the audience.
Unique Cultural Exhibits
A special pavilion called ‘Yelvas,’ showcasing the culture associated with the new moon, was created in front of the stage in the Latur-Dharashiv district. This unique exhibit drew significant attention from the attendees.
In addition to the cultural events, information on various state government schemes was shared through stalls set up by different departments, including the Agriculture Department, Employment Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Department, Social Welfare and Social Justice Department, Fisheries Department, and the District Health Department.
