More Employment Opportunities Through State Skill University – Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha
Mumbai : The Maharashtra State Skill University is enhancing students’ skills with innovative training, according to Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha. He emphasized that the university’s success is aimed at providing more employment opportunities.
A Guruvandana program was organized on Teacher’s Day by the Department of Skill Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation in collaboration with Maharashtra State Skill University at the World Trade Centre. Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha addressed the event, which was also attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Apoorva Palkar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Maharashtra State Innovation Society Vikas Naik, Additional Commissioner Anil Sonawane, Chairman of World Trade Center Vijay Kalantri, Registrar Rajendra Talware, and Managing Director of Amrut Yojana Vijay Joshi.
Minister Lodha praised Prof. Dr. Apoorva Palkar as an exemplary leader, noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently recognized Dr. Palkar’s contributions at a program in Jalgaon. He highlighted the need for skilled manpower to meet today’s employment demands, emphasizing that the private sector requires well-developed skills. He noted that effective coordination between the university and private institutions is resulting in numerous employment opportunities. Minister Lodha also encouraged students to plan and prepare for future opportunities and to continuously develop their skills.
Dr. J.B. Joshi from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) and Marathi Science Council emphasized the critical role of the service sector in boosting national productivity. He highlighted the need for ten crore jobs in India and suggested that innovative thinking in agriculture could benefit farmers and create new start-ups and employment opportunities. He also stressed the importance of training in fostering innovation.
The event included the recognition of outstanding teachers and the awarding of fellowships. Kaushal University was acknowledged for its partnerships with various organizations, including Kaushal Mitra, Sancheti Healthcare Academy, Zudio, McDonald, and the World Trade Center. Teachers Amar Saxena, Aditi Kale, Bhupendra Kaur, Sunil Joshi, Prateek Narvekar, and Vasudha Jadhav, who have contributed significantly to student skill development, were also honored. Under the Amrut Udyogikata Vikas Yojana, 15 selected startups received scholarships of three lakh rupees each. Additionally, Maharashtra State Skill University has signed MoUs with Narwade Katyalist, Cash Free Metro, and My Board.
