CM Meets Singapore Delegation: Strengthening Rajasthan-Singapore Ties for Vision 2047
This visit will strengthen relations between Rajasthan and Singapore – CM invites Singapore for the upcoming Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit
Jaipur : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma stated that the goal is to double Rajasthan’s economy from $180 billion to $350 billion in the next five years. Aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Developed India 2047, the state is also working towards Developed Rajasthan 2047, where Singapore can play a very significant partnership role.
Addressing a meeting with Singapore’s delegation at the Secretariat’s Conference Hall on Wednesday, Shri Sharma welcomed the representatives, highlighting Rajasthan’s rich tradition of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ and its global fame for unique culture and heritage. He noted that under the Prime Minister’s Act East Policy, Singapore is a key partner and has inspired the world with its economic model.
The CM emphasized remarkable progress in Rajasthan across sectors like healthcare, water conservation, and industries. He mentioned allocating 8.26% of the total budget to healthcare to ensure accessible health services. Through initiatives like Catch the Rain and Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban 2.0, water conservation is being promoted in the state. He also highlighted the historic MoU for the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) to address drinking and irrigation water needs, with implementation already underway.
Rising Rajasthan: A Global Platform for Investment
Shri Sharma announced that the state will host the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit from 9-11 December to unlock new opportunities for global investments. So far, MoUs worth ₹20 lakh crore have been signed. He extended an invitation to the Singapore delegation to participate, expressing hope that the visit would not only strengthen Rajasthan-Singapore relations but also open new avenues for the state’s development and global connectivity.
During the session, senior officials presented insights on Rajasthan’s economic status, water conservation, healthcare initiatives, and the upcoming investment summit. Additional Chief Secretary Finance, Shri Akhil Arora, highlighted immense potential in sectors like renewable energy, tourism, and agriculture, noting that a large portion of the state’s population is young, accelerating its development journey. ACS Water Resources, Shri Abhay Kumar, provided updates on initiatives like Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan 2.0, river interlinking, and groundwater recharge.
Rajasthan: A Land of Opportunities
Principal Secretary for Medical and Health, Mrs. Gayatri A. Rathod, shared that 88% of the population benefits from free health insurance under the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana. Commissioner of Industries Shri Rohit Gupta outlined Rajasthan’s leadership in renewable energy, gems and jewelry, textiles, mining, and petrochemicals, presenting the roadmap for Rising Rajasthan.
The Singapore delegation praised the state’s exceptional work in areas such as health, skill development, and energy, acknowledging Rajasthan as a land of immense opportunities. They expressed confidence that this visit would give a new direction to relations between Singapore and Rajasthan.
The meeting was attended by senior representatives from Singapore, including Senior State Minister for Digital Development and Information Ministry Mr. Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State from the Prime Minister’s Office Mr. Desmond Tan Kok Meng, Minister of State for Education and Manpower Mr. Gan Siow Huang, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Finance Mr. Shawn Huang, Member of Parliament Mr. Ji Yao Quan, Ms. Rachel Ong, and Mr. Saktiandi Supaat.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister Mrs. Diya Kumari, Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa, Industries Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Medical Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khinwsar, Public Health Engineering Minister Shri Kanhaiya Lal, Water Resources Minister Shri Suresh Singh Rawat, Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretary to the CM Shri Shikhar Agarwal, and senior officials from various departments.
