DPIIT awards UP with the Top Achiever State award under the Business Reforms Action Plan 22

Lucknow : The Yogi government, committed to fostering industries and entrepreneurship in the state, has been nationally recognized for its outstanding policies and initiatives. The Government of India’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has awarded Uttar Pradesh the prestigious ‘Top Achiever State Award’ title under the Business Reforms Action Plan 2022 (BRAP 22).

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, presented the award to Uttar Pradesh’s Industrial Development Minister, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, on Thursday. UP received this award for two business-centric and one citizen-centric reforms.

Notably, the business reforms include facilities like an online single-window system for sectoral licenses, land administration, and land and property transfer for businesses.

The citizen-centric reforms include services like obtaining utility permits for businesses, construction permit enablers, and inspection enablers.

At an industrial summit organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade of the Government of India in Delhi, UP was declared the top achiever state in both sectors.

Representing the state government at the summit, the state’s Industrial Development Minister, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, said, “Owing to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s tireless efforts, strong law and order, better industrial policies, and development-focused plans, Uttar Pradesh is progressing towards becoming the growth engine of the country. Significant changes have been made in the business and citizen-centric reform sectors, and it is a result of these changes that the UP has emerged as the top achiever state in these areas.”

Minister Nandi further stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is committed to making its best contribution towards fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of achieving a 5 trillion-dollar economy.
