Lucknow : Owing to the policies of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, several state government departments are not only earning profit, but also dividends in Uttar Pradesh. In this sequence, JPS Rathore, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Cooperative Department of Uttar Pradesh and Chairman of Uttar Pradesh State Warehousing Corporation, on Sunday presented a cheque of Rs 2,59,08,960 (2.09 crore) as the corporation’s dividend for the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23 to the Chief Minister.
He informed that that the Uttar Pradesh State Warehousing Corporation earned a profit of Rs 57.49 crore and Rs 53.42 crore in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 financial years, respectively.
Notably, the corporation has integrated all its warehouses with the Depot Online System (DOS) software to enhance transparency and efficiency. For security purposes, CCTV cameras have been installed in regional offices and warehouses, allowing headquarters to monitor the facilities remotely. Additionally, all tenders are processed through e-tendering or GeM, and all purchases are made via GeM.
Farmers are being trained to ensure the safety of food grains. Additionally, a safe storage facility is offered at minimal charges under the Pesticide Service Scheme, enabling farmers and traders to keep their stored grains pest-free. Farmers receive a 30% discount on storage charges for safe storage, while cooperative institutions benefit from a 10% discount.
All of the corporation’s warehouses have been registered with the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), allowing farmers to receive Electronic Negotiable Warehouse Receipts (E-NWR) for their stored food grains. The facility makes it easier for farmers to secure loans.
