MLA Committee on Papers Laid on the Table Submits Most Comprehensive Report

Aizawl : Today, the ‘Committee on Papers Laid on the Table’ of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly submitted its “First Report on Actions Taken by the Government” to Speaker Pu Lalbiakzama. The report is based on Rule 229 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business and pertains to the government’s actions in response to the recommendations contained in the Seventh Report of the Committee, which relates to the Commerce & Industries Department.

The Committee on Papers Laid on the Table is responsible for reviewing laws passed by the House, as well as scrutinizing rules that have either been enacted or are yet to be enacted, ensuring proper procedures are followed. The committee is chaired by Lt. Col. Clement Lalhmingthanga and currently has five members.
