UAE’s Key Role in India’s Development Journey – Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal

Mumbai : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a goal for India to become a developed nation by 2047. To achieve this vision, India is making rapid strides across various sectors, with its economy growing at an impressive pace. Soon, India is expected to emerge as the world’s third-largest economy. The UAE, a longstanding and close friend of India, will play a crucial role in this journey towards making India a developed nation, said Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.

Minister Goyal made these remarks during the closing session of the India-UAE Trade Conference held at Hotel Trident. The event was attended by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) President Sanjiv Puri, Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, along with numerous representatives from companies, entrepreneurs, and investors from both nations.

Union Minister Goyal highlighted that India and the UAE are working together in several key sectors including infrastructure development, agriculture, healthcare, information technology, communication, renewable energy, environmental conservation, air and water transport, and cargo. The collaboration in innovation, investment, and sustainable development is helping strengthen the growing ties between the two nations. This conference marks the beginning of a new chapter in their bilateral relations, according to Minister Goyal.

UAE Foreign Trade Minister Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi emphasized that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) has been further strengthened by this conference. Several MoUs were also signed between companies from both countries on this occasion.
