US Intensifies Iran Campaign with 11th Straight Night of Strikes, Targets Military Infrastructure

Washington, July 2026 : The United States military carried out its 11th consecutive night of airstrikes against Iran, targeting key military infrastructure in a continued effort to weaken Tehran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, according to the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

In an update posted on X, CENTCOM said the latest round of strikes concluded at 8:15 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday. The operation focused on Iranian military operations centres, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities and logistics infrastructure used to support military activities. The command said the objective was to further reduce Iran’s capacity to disrupt international maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s busiest oil shipping routes.

CENTCOM accused Iran of carrying out more than 30 attacks on commercial vessels over the past three months, describing the incidents as unjustified acts that endangered hundreds of civilian mariners and threatened freedom of navigation. The US military said these attacks posed serious risks to regional stability as well as global energy supplies.

Despite the escalating military confrontation, CENTCOM stated that commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz has continued uninterrupted. According to the command, US forces have helped facilitate the safe transit of nearly 900 commercial vessels since early May, transporting an estimated 450 million barrels of crude oil through the waterway.

Earlier on Tuesday, CENTCOM announced that its forces had begun another round of strikes at 7 p.m. ET, marking the 11th straight evening of military operations against Iranian targets. Officials reiterated that the campaign is aimed at degrading Iran’s military capabilities linked to maritime threats and ensuring the continued security of international shipping lanes.

The latest US strikes came as tensions in the region intensified further following retaliatory action by Iran. Earlier in the day, Iran’s armed forces announced that they had launched missile and drone attacks targeting US military bases, assets and infrastructure in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.

According to statements issued by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and carried by the official Sepah News outlet, Iranian aerospace forces struck US air defence systems, radar installations, communications facilities and other military assets in Bahrain and Kuwait, while also targeting US military facilities in Jordan.

The IRGC described the attacks as retaliation for recent US military operations inside Iran and said they were intended to pave the way for broader missile and drone strikes against American military positions across the region.

Separately, Iran’s regular army claimed responsibility for missile and drone attacks on several US military installations, including Camp Arifjan, Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait and Shaikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.

The exchange of strikes marks one of the most serious military confrontations between Washington and Tehran in recent years, raising concerns over the possibility of a wider regional conflict. While the United States maintains that its operations are aimed solely at protecting international shipping and regional security, Iran has vowed to continue responding to what it calls American aggression. As both sides continue military operations, global attention remains focused on developments in the Gulf, where any disruption to maritime trade could have far-reaching economic and geopolitical consequences.
