Bihar Sports Minister Ms. Shreyasi Singh Conducts High-Level Exposure Visit to Odisha’s Premier Sports Infrastructure

Bhubaneswar / Puri, July 2026 — Ms. Shreyasi Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Sports and Industries, Government of Bihar, is on an official four-day exposure and study visit to Odisha from July 30 to August 2, 2026. The high-level delegation aims to study Odisha’s world-class sports ecosystem, high-performance centre (HPC) operational models, public-private partnership (PPP) frameworks, and sports science integration to gain vital insights for Bihar’s planned flagship Sports City and athletic infrastructure.
Accompanied by senior officials—including Director of Sports Shri Arif Ahsan and Deputy Director (BSSA) Shri Himanshu Singh—the Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist and Arjuna Awardee visited key sporting facilities across Bhubaneswar.

During her review at the Kalinga Stadium complex, Ms. Singh inspected the world-class infrastructure and operational setups at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium, Shooting High Performance Centre, Gymnastics High Performance Centre, Aquatic Centre, Shuttle (Badminton) High Performance Centre, Hockey High Performance Centre, Sports Science Centre, Indoor Athletics Centre, Weightlifting High Performance Centre, and AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy.
Reinforcing cross-state collaboration, the Hon’ble Minister engaged in detailed deliberations with senior officials of Odisha’s Sports & Youth Services Department. The discussions centred on joint strategies for athlete development, administrative best practices, robust talent discovery programs, and event management protocols.

During these high-level interactions and venue inspections, senior officials from the Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha—including Commissioner-cum-Secretary Shri Bhupendra Singh Poonia, Sports Director Dr. Yedulla Vijay along with other key departmental officials—were present to facilitate detailed briefings and guide the technical tour.

The delegation is scheduled to visit Puri next to inspect the Kho-Kho High Performance Centre and Sports Hostel, further strengthening bilateral sports knowledge exchange between the two states.

“Odisha’s transformative sports framework and athlete-centric ecosystem serve as an exemplary model. The learnings from these operational methodologies and world-class High-Performance Centres will play a crucial role in shaping Bihar’s athletic infrastructure and upcoming sports projects,” noted the delegation during the technical interactions.
