Glasgow, Aug 2026 : India’s Sachin Siwach produced a composed and gritty performance to clinch the men’s 60kg boxing gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026, edging Namibia’s Tryagain Morni Ndevelo by a narrow 3-2 split decision in a fiercely contested final on Saturday.

The bout was one of the closest of the boxing competition, with both fighters refusing to give an inch across the three rounds. Sachin maintained his composure under intense pressure and matched Ndevelo punch for punch, ultimately doing enough to convince the majority of the judges.

The split verdict underlined how evenly matched the contest was, with three judges scoring the bout in favour of the Indian while the remaining two gave their verdict to the Namibian boxer.

India’s overall medal tally also received a significant boost from the boxing successes, along with a one-two finish in the men’s Shot Put F57 and a bronze medal in judo. The Indian boxing contingent still has plenty to look forward to, with as many as 10 pugilists having qualified for their respective finals.
