Telangana Names Swimmers for 52nd Junior National Aquatic Championship
Hyderabad, August 2026 : The Telangana Swimming Association (TSA) has announced the squad of swimmers who will represent the state at the 52nd Junior National Aquatic Championship, scheduled to be held at the Aquatic Complex, Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from August 18 to 23.
The selected swimmers were chosen following the state selection trials conducted during the 11th Telangana Sub-Junior and Junior Inter-District Swimming Championship, held on July 18 and 19 at the Aquatic Complex, GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

Several swimmers impressed during the selection meet by winning multiple medals. Goutham Shashi Vardhan Naidu Baggi, a student of Coach Vicky Sir, emerged as one of the standout performers, winning two gold and two silver medals across freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke events. His impressive performance earned him a place in the Telangana squad for the prestigious national championship.
The selected swimmers will attend a coaching camp from August 1 to 15 at GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli, and Zion Sports Academy. The swimmers have been asked to report to coaches John Siddique and Ayush Yadav, according to the TSA.
The Telangana contingent includes swimmers across Boys Group 1A, Boys Group 1B, Girls Group 1A and Girls Group 1B categories.
Boys Group 1A: Abhay Lakkoju, Goutham Shashi Vardhan Naidu Baggi, Ishan Das, Jordan, Dominic Franklin, Suhas Preetham Mylari and Varshith Dhulipudi.
Boys Group 1B: Bandaari Sai Sri Praneeth, Damidi Amshumann Reddy, Hridesh Majhi, Sachin Satvik Suresh Saritha, Tejas Kumar T.S. and Yashaswi Nune.
Girls Group 1A: Addanki Mokshit, Aditi Nadella, Meera Beniwal, Sri Nithya Sagi and Sudhiksha Krishna.
Girls Group 1B: Annika Deborah Paripooranam A, Dakshinya Harini Gidijala, Ishi Agarwal, Johanna Shiju, Meghana Nair and Ruhi Lasya Nannuta.
The selection marks an important milestone for the young swimmers as they prepare to compete against some of the country’s best junior athletes. For Goutham Shashi Vardhan Naidu Baggi and Coach Vicky Sir, his selection comes as recognition of his strong performance and consistent training.
The upcoming coaching camp will provide the selected swimmers with an opportunity to further improve their technique, endurance, race strategy and competitive readiness ahead of the national championship.
With strong performances at the state-level selection meet and focused preparation ahead of the event, Telangana’s young swimmers will be aiming to make a significant impact at the national championships in Bhubaneswar.
