Sandipani School Inauguration Marks Beginning of New Era in Education: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the inauguration of the Sandipani School at Berasia is not merely the opening of a new school building but the beginning of a new era in education and a brighter future for the region’s students. He said the institution will provide quality education supported by modern infrastructure and equip students with knowledge, values, confidence and skills, enabling them to excel in life. The Chief Minister was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Government Sandipani Thakur Lal Singh Higher Secondary School in Berasia on Sunday. He inspected the newly constructed campus and conveyed his best wishes to the students. Built over nearly 35 acres at a cost of ₹50.74 crore, the school is equipped with modern facilities. The Chief Minister also planted a sapling on the school premises.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that while parents give children the gift of life, it is schools and teachers who shape their personalities and make their lives meaningful. He said, comparing the role of teachers to the mythical Paras (Philosopher’s Stone) that transforms iron into gold, that good schools and dedicated teachers nurture students’ talents and transform them into valuable assets for society and the nation. He added that schools are not merely centres of academic learning but institutions that build character, discipline, values and a positive outlook towards life.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that India has been recognised for centuries for its rich tradition of knowledge, education and the Guru-Shishya tradition. He said that the objective of education is to lead students from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. India’s ancient education system has inspired the world, and the State Government is developing Sandipani Schools to carry forward this glorious legacy while meeting the needs of modern education. The Chief Minister urged students not to view education solely as a means of securing employment. He said education opens opportunities to become doctors, engineers, lawyers, journalists and civil servants, as well as modern farmers, successful entrepreneurs, skilled traders and responsible citizens. The Chief Minister encouraged students to identify their interests and talents, strive for excellence in their chosen fields, and achieve success through dedication, honesty and hard work.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Government is making sustained efforts to transform young people from job seekers into job creators. The State Government is also working continuously to integrate education with employment, self-employment, skill development and entrepreneurship. Making the younger generation self-reliant and active partners in nation-building, he said, remains one of the Government’s foremost priorities. The Chief Minister described knowledge acquired in school as life’s greatest asset, noting that while material wealth may diminish, knowledge, wisdom and intellect remain permanent. He urged students to make the best use of their school years and imbibe strong values along with knowledge.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Sandipani Schools derive their name from Maharishi Sandipani, the revered guru of Lord Shri Krishna. He recalled that Lord Shri Krishna studied at Maharishi Sandipani’s ashram in Ujjain, where he mastered 64 arts and 14 disciplines of knowledge, enabling him to overcome every challenge in life. The Chief Minister said that the objective of Sandipani Schools is to combine modern education with Indian culture, moral values and the Guru-Shishya tradition. The Chief Minister, referring to the enduring friendship between Lord Shri Krishna and Sudama,  encouraged students to cherish the friendships they build in school, support one another in difficult times, and uphold the values of compassion, generosity and mutual respect. Education, he said, not only helps individuals become successful but also inspires them to become responsible and compassionate human beings.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stressed that a strong democracy requires educated, value-based and responsible citizens. He said today’s students could go on to serve society as Panchayat representatives, Sarpanches, MLAs, MPs or in other public leadership roles, adding that good leadership is rooted in the discipline, values, sensitivity and spirit of service developed during school life. The Chief Minister recalled the lives of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, urging students to draw inspiration from their ideals of patriotism, self-respect, courage and dedication. He said the present era calls upon every citizen to contribute to national development and use their knowledge and talent to enhance India’s global stature. The Chief Minister said Sandipani Schools are a significant initiative of the State Government to bridge disparities in educational opportunities between economically weaker and affluent sections of society. Through these institutions, the State Government is providing students across Madhya Pradesh with equal access to quality education, modern laboratories, sports facilities and other essential educational infrastructure. He said that such an environment would inspire students to realise their potential and pursue higher aspirations.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed satisfaction with the spacious and well-equipped campus and said that the school would emerge as a centre of excellence for nurturing talent in the Berasia region. He expressed confidence that students graduating from the institution would distinguish themselves as doctors, lawyers, engineers, journalists, entrepreneurs, farmers, public representatives and professionals in diverse fields through their dedication and ability. The Chief Minister said that when India celebrates the centenary of Independence in 2047, the students currently studying in schools will lead the nation’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat. Powered by their knowledge, skills, hard work and values, Madhya Pradesh would contribute significantly to India’s emergence as a global leader.

Chief Minister Dr Yadav, to accelerate the overall development of the Berasia region, announced the four-laning of the Bhopal–Berasia road. He said the project would strengthen connectivity between Berasia and the State capital, ensuring safer and more convenient travel while providing fresh impetus to the region’s economic, commercial and social development.

Berasia MLA Shri Vishnu Khatri described the inauguration of the Sandipani School as a matter of pride and joy for the region. He said the State Government is continuously expanding educational infrastructure, creating better opportunities for students in rural areas, particularly girls. He noted that the establishment of new high schools and higher secondary schools in the region has increased enrolment and reduced dropout rates. He urged students to pursue their studies with dedication, imbibe strong values, and bring laurels to their families, the region and the State, adding that the Sandipani School would emerge as a centre of excellence for modern education, skill development and holistic personality development.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also felicitated meritorious students from Berasia who excelled in the Board examinations—Shri Akash Sahu, Sushri Chanchal Kushwaha, Shri Sanyam Jain, Sushri Bhavana Prajapati, Sushri Rupali Rajak and CA Sushri Avantika Sahu—by presenting them with trophies and certificates. The Chief Minister later held a roadshow in Berasia, where he received a warm welcome from citizens and greeted the enthusiastic gathering.

The programme was attended by District Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Ramkumar Gurjar, District Panchayat Vice-Chairperson Shri Mohan Singh Jat, Municipal Council Chairperson Smt. Tanushree Rathore, Janpad Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Lata Gurjar, Shri Teerath Singh Meena, public representatives, Principal Shri H.N. Mishra, officials of the School Education Department, teachers and a large number of students.
