Chief Minister At Mcs Association General Conference

Aizawl : The 48th General Conference of the Mizoram Civil Service Association (MCSA) was held today at Aijal Club, with Pu Lalduhoma, Hon’ble Chief Minister, gracing the occasion as the chief guest.

In his address, the Chief Minister urged the members to adapt to new systems with efficiency and work together for the progress of the state. He reminded the MCS Officers that they are the backbone of the administration and should always conduct themselves with integrity and professionalism. He emphasized the importance of leadership in public service and encouraged officers to make the most of the opportunities before them, while keeping their focus on serving the people.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that governance requires strong leadership and the cooperation of all stakeholders. With the increasing role of technology, he stressed the need for the civil service to embrace digital tools for better administration. He noted that the officers are among the most capable and experienced professionals and urged them to continue upholding high standards. He also touched upon the state’s Handholding Scheme, describing it not just as an economic initiative but as a policy aimed at improving the moral fabric of society. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of civil servants to implement such policies effectively, working hand in hand with their teams.

The Chief Minister also launched the 10th edition of the MCSA official magazine, Rahbi.

During the event, Pu V. Lalengmawia, President of MCSA, delivered the Presidential Address. He acknowledged the challenges officers face during transfers and postings but emphasized that it is essential for government servants to remain flexible. He remarked that as the government seeks greater convergence of departments, officers must be prepared to embrace new roles and responsibilities. He also urged members to actively support the state’s flagship Mizoram Bana Kaih (Handholding) Scheme, which is designed to enhance economic empowerment and inclusive growth.

The post-lunch session was chaired by Pu V. Lalengmawia, where district-wise reports were presented. Various presentations and discussions were held, covering key topics such as the Handholding Scheme, New Criminal Laws, Optimizing Interpersonal Conduct and Protocols in Administration, and Best Practices for Office Procedures.

MCSA members also passed resolutions, including:

  1. Fostering Economic Empowerment and Inclusive Growth in the State: The members committed to championing the government’s flagship Mizoram Bana Kaih (Handholding) Scheme and implementing it effectively at all administrative levels.
  2. Upgrading Public Service Delivery: Members advocated for increased investment in district, sub-division, and block administration infrastructures to improve essential services for the public. They urged the government to prioritize the upgrading of these services to meet the growing needs of the people.
